Attention Apex Lesson Families,

As of now, we are planning to hold all lessons tomorrow, Sunday, October 11, as regularly scheduled.

We are closely monitoring the incoming storm front and will continue to evaluate weather conditions overnight.

If conditions become unsafe for our riders and horses, we will cancel lessons and send a text notification to all affected lesson clients.

If you do not receive a cancellation text, please plan to attend your lesson at its regularly scheduled time.

The safety of our riders, horses, and staff is always our top priority.

Thank you for your understanding!

Apex Families,
We wanted to share some difficult news with our Apex students and families.

There comes a time when we have to make one of the hardest decisions that comes with loving and caring for horses. As they age, their comfort and quality of life must come first.

Jesse has been a very special part of Apex for more than 10 years. She was graciously donated to our program by one of our veterinarians and, over the years, has become an important part of the Apex family. She has helped introduce so many riders to horseback riding and has been there for countless lessons, milestones, and memories.

Jesse turned 30 this year, and unfortunately, she is showing signs that she is becoming too sore and uncomfortable to continue enjoying the quality of life she deserves. After careful consideration, Jesse is scheduled to be peacefully laid to rest at the beginning of next week.

We wanted to let our Apex families and past Apex students know ahead of time so that anyone who has shared a special connection with Jesse has the opportunity to spend some time with her, give her some love, or bring her a few carrots. She will be in the Apex barn.

You are welcome to take photos with Jesse and spend some time saying goodbye. Please ask an Apex staff member before giving her any treats. If you choose to share your photos or favorite Jesse memories on social media, we would love for you to tag Apex so we can share in those memories as well.

Jesse has given so much to our riders and our program throughout her years with us. We are incredibly grateful for the role she has played in the Apex community and especially for the many riders whose horseback riding journey began with her.

Thank you for helping us make Jesse's remaining time comfortable and full of the attention and kindness she has given to so many of us over the years.

Happy Mother’s Day from Apex Riding Academy

Today we recognize the dedication, strength, and guidance that mothers bring—not only in life, but in the saddle. From first rides to confident strides, so many of our riders are supported by mothers who encourage growth, resilience, and a love for the sport.

At Apex Riding Academy, we are proud to see these bonds develop both in and out of the arena. Whether it’s cheering from the rail or riding alongside their children, mothers play an essential role in every rider’s journey.

We wish all of our Apex families a meaningful and memorable Mother’s Day.

Our final tournament of the season is here. This is your last opportunity to compete before we break for summer and resume again in the fall.

Tournament sign-ups are now open and will close Wednesday the 29th. To register, visit our website and click on the “Tournaments” section.

Please note that all riders are required to have the correct attire in order to participate. This includes an approved academy shirt and proper riding pants. Riding pants must be boot cut and include underpasses, the strap that secures the pant under your boot.

If you do not currently have the required shirt or riding pants, you may order them. For assistance or questions regarding attire, please contact your instructor or the office.

We look forward to closing out the season with a strong and professional showing from all riders.
