At Jefferson Animal Hospital we pride ourselves on building quality relationships with our clients and maintaining the highest quality of care for their pets. We offer a wide range of services, including but not limited to: boarding, wellness care, orthopedic care, spay/neuter, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and diagnostics, a full service laboratory, a full service pharmacy, laser therapy, and acupuncture. Have you ever caught yourself thinking..."Maybe they're just slowing down"?
It's easy to chalk little changes up to getting older. But sometimes they're not signs of aging at all. Sometimes they're signs of arthritis. 🐾 Please join us in welcoming Dr. Julie Duckert to our veterinary family! 🐾

We are so excited to have Dr. Duckert joining our team! Her passion for helping pets and the people who love them makes her the perfect addition to JAH! She greatly enjoys helping clients make informed decisions about their pet’s health care while strengthening the special human-animal bond.

Dr. Duckert was born and raised just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, where her love for animals began. She went on to earn her Registered Veterinary Technician license from Baton Rouge Community College and her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Louisiana State University. She then moved to Columbus, Ohio, to attend The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2020.

After practicing at a fast-paced hospital in Columbus, Dr. Duckert returned home to Louisiana, where she has continued to build her career and put down roots. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, nutrition, and behavior medicine, and she is also a Certified Fear Free Veterinary Professional.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Duckert enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children, and their dog. She loves enjoying the food and culture of Southeast Louisiana, getting outdoors near the water, reading, and taking Barre Fitness classes.

We are thrilled to have her as part of our team and know our clients and patients will love getting to know her!
