Today, we kick off National Veterinary Technician Week, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible veterinary technicians who are the heartbeat of veterinary medicine!
Veterinary technicians are so much more than an extra set of hands. They are skilled medical professionals, compassionate caregivers, patient advocates, and an essential part of every successful veterinary team.
From providing hands-on nursing care and monitoring anesthesia to performing radiographs, calculating and administering medications, assisting with procedures, managing treatments, and monitoring patients through recovery, their knowledge and technical skills are vital to the care we provide every single day.
But what makes veterinary technicians truly special goes beyond their medical expertise.
It's the gentle touch that comforts a frightened patient. The extra time spent making a hospitalized pet feel safe. The patience shown to worried families.
