Dino has entered the chat. 🦖
He’s six years old, approximately six inches off the ground, and—as any Corgi would tell you—perfectly capable of running the entire household from down there. 😂
Dino has some pretty strong opinions about how life should operate. Touching his paws? Absolutely not. Nail trims? Even bigger no. Interestingly, he handles rougher handling better than gentle touch and can be uncomfortable with being softly touched or handled.
He’s also learned that if he has something valuable—food or even something he definitely shouldn’t have—he can use resource guarding to keep it.
Out in the world, walks can bring out reactivity, and we’ll also be taking our time figuring out how he truly feels about other dogs rather than making assumptions.
So Dino’s training is going to look a little different.
Before we worry about making things “perfect,” we want to understand the why behind his behaviors. We’ll work on clearer boundaries, better communication, neutrality, handling and trust, while teaching Dino that he doesn’t need to control every situation himself.
He may have little legs, but we’ve got some BIG goals for this guy. 🦖🐾
