Loose Leash Canine

Barkley is in the house. Quite a bit different than the last few I’ve had in. Looking forward to making him the best version of himself!

We’re back!

Loose Leash Canine is officially back to regular operations after spending the weekend at a PSA trial with Cleo and Maverick.

We went into the weekend hoping to earn PDCs with both dogs. Some variables weren’t on our side with Cleo this time around, but Maverick got it done and earned his PDC!

Now it’s back to work for all of us, and on to training toward Level 1 with Maverick.

Thanks to everyone who wished us luck, followed along, or came out to watch. All calls, messages, training, and normal operations are back up and running!

Loose Leash Canine is closed through Monday while we’re away competing with Cleo and Maverick at a PSA trial! We’ll be back to normal operations Tuesday, September 29.

If you’ve ever been curious about the sport side of dog training or just want to come watch some really cool dogs work, feel free to come out. Bring a chair, bring the family, and hang out for a while. I’ll share the event link in the first comment!

Probably best to leave your own dog at home for this one. Dogs that aren’t competing won’t really be able to be out and about, so they’d be waiting in the car anyway.

Looking forward to a fun weekend with these two. A lot of you know Cleo and Maverick or have met them at some point, so wish them luck this weekend!

Emma got to spend the week here while her family was on vacation. This is her promptly after returning home. I think she couldn’t keep up!

Took a while, but I think this guy is finally enjoying his time here.

Just absorbing the weather while we have it available and proofing some behaviors while we’re at it. A few new dog introductions took place here and it’s amazing how some dogs could care less if there’s new dogs around…when they’re free and have options.

Wolfie taking some cues from an “expert” at being a dog. This boy spent a large portion of his life tied up as an outdoor dog and adapting to, what we consider, a normal life is taking him some time. He’s well-natured but I find he struggles to regulate in some circumstances. Unfortunately, the things that get other dogs excited when interacting with humans, don’t really excite him, so finding places to work on this has proven difficult. So, I’m stepping back and letting my dogs do the teaching until he’s in a better place mentally to take instruction from a human.

Walker getting the hang of off-leash life. Today he got to run around with Cleo, as well as two of our former Board & Train dogs, Milo and Scoob! Interesting how the Aussies hit it off so quickly!

Little Maisie killing it with her recall!
