Join Hearty Paws Great Dane Rescue next weekend on October 24th for the Dallas Farmers Market annual Bark-o-ween and Doggy Costume Contest! 🎃🐶

Stock up on some fresh fall veggies and then stop by our table to say hi! We will have Great Danes for you to meet, and you can learn more about our rescue and how to help. Plus, we always have fun items you can purchase that go straight to helping more Danes! Stick around for the live music and dress your pup up for the Doggy Costume Contest happening at 1:30 with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place that are sponsored by Lula Pup Shop.

This 5-year-old, 110-lb Great Dane is wishing for her a happily ever after but needs a safe launch pad (foster home) first!

🐶 Female | DOB 3/2/2021
🏡 House & crate trained
🦮 Leash trained with harness
🚗 LOVES car rides
☀️ Professional sunbather
👧 Great with people including kids
🐈 NO CATS
🐕 Good with large dogs with polite introductions

Molly is a sweet people-pup. She also loves sunshine, treats (who doesn’t), a warm fire on a cold day, and car rides. Her favorite toy is a wishbone-we think that is a sign about her thoughts on a new home. She really enjoys a good game of tug and if you are open to it, she would like to apply for a lapdog position. At this moment, she is a little vocal when meeting new dogs. Her foster needs to allow time for her to decompress and then take all introductions slowly. If we don’t find her a good launch pad, she will end up in a shelter and no one wants that, particularly Molly.💜

Fuddle Dee Duddle is a total people-lover who wants to follow you everywhere you go! ❤️ She’s a big-time leaner who loves being close to her humans and soaking up all the affection she can get.

She likely hasn’t spent much time in a crate, but with a little encouragement, she went right in! She’s got medium energy, and once she gets her wiggles out, she’s ready for a nap and a good cuddle session. 🥰

This sweet girl deserves to decompress in a home where she can feel safe, loved, and comfortable while she waits for her forever family.

💕 FOSTER NEEDED: LADY! 💕

📍 Foster home must be within 3 hours of Dallas, Texas!

Meet Lady! 👑🐾 This beautiful blue Great Dane is approximately 2 years old and looking for a loving foster home to call her own while she waits for her forever family!

Lady already has some wonderful qualities that will make her a great companion:

🔔 House trained — She even rings bells when she needs to go outside!

🚗 Loves car rides — Who’s ready for an adventure?

🐶 Dog friendly — Small dogs can make her a little nervous.

🦮 Leash trained

🚧 A FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED! Lady will not potty on a leash, so a secure fenced yard is a must!

Lady isn’t crate trained yet, so she’ll need a foster willing to help her continue learning. 🏡 She has no known history with cats, so a cat-free home is preferred.

👧 Older kids, ages 12+, are the best fit for Lady.

Lady is looking for a foster who can offer her patience, structure, and plenty of love as she settles into a home and continues building her confidence. 💕

We had a blast at BARKtoberfest this weekend! We offered pup cups and got to meet a lot of cute faces and see a lot of fun doggy costumes 🍂🎃

Thank you to our lone Hearty Paws representative yesterday, Bella! She is a Hearty Paws alumni and Kim's dog—this was her first event and she had a great day 💜🐾

Thank you to our volunteers who helped—you are the backbone to these events! Not only could we not do it without you, but it also wouldn't be as fun!!

And thank you to Town Square Market at Richland Hills for inviting us to be a part of this fun day!

💙ADOPT MERLIN💙

Say hello to Merlin! Born 11/12/2019, this handsome 136-pound merle Great Dane is proof that you can, in fact, fit an entire horse into a dog-shaped package. 😂🐴

Merlin is a big-hearted, easygoing guy who thinks pretty much everyone is his friend. People? LOVE them. Kids? LOVE them. Dogs? Yep! Cats, horses, deer, peacocks… apparently Merlin has decided the entire animal kingdom is on his friendship list. 🥰

He’s:
🐾 Neutered
🏡 House trained
🛏️ Crate trained
🚗 A HUGE fan of car rides
❤️ Wonderful with people and animals
💤 Fairly low energy with occasional zoomie episodes

And when we say zoomies, remember… this is a 136-pound Great Dane. 😂💨

Merlin’s biggest challenge? He has absolutely no idea how big he is. He’s convinced he’s just a regular-sized dog who happens to require approximately the same amount of floor space as a small apartment. Because of his size and enthusiasm, he needs a home with adults and older children who aren’t at risk of being knocked over by an affectionate giant.

Merlin is also VERY food motivated. Like, “Did someone say FOOD?!” motivated. 🍗😂 All food needs to be kept securely put away because Merlin considers unattended snacks to be community property. He also has a sensitive tummy, so keeping his diet consistent is important.

What Merlin really wants is pretty simple: a loving home, comfy places to lounge, some adventures in the car, good food (the approved kind 😉), and people who appreciate living with a giant, goofy, lovable Great Dane.

If you’ve always wanted a dog who can simultaneously be your couch potato, your adventure buddy, and your very large personal space heater… Merlin may be your guy. 💙

TOMORROW—DFW friends, come join us at BARKtoberfest! 🎃🍂

We are excited to be a part of BARKtoberfest hosted by Town Square Market at Richland Hills! Hearty Paws will be participating in the celebration of dogs with an outdoor market at Creek Trail Park! Shop unique pet products, discover local businesses and vendors, and make some memories with your pup while meeting other pet-loving people!

Plus, there is will 3 different contests—best costume, dog-owner look alike, and best trick! The contest judging will be from 12-1.

Bring your dogs, stop by to meet some Great Danes, and enjoy a great community event!
