Our favorite little axolotl has gotten into the Halloween spirit, but there's just one problem… he's still waiting for his friends to join the fun! 👻

Our 4th Annual Pet Costume Contest is underway, and we want to see your pets dressed in their spooky, silly, or downright adorable Halloween best!

📸 How to Enter:
Email a photo of your pet in costume to [email protected] with their name and what they're dressed as!

🎃 Submissions close October 23rd at 12 PM!
🗳️ Voting takes place October 25th–31st!
🏆 Winner announced November 1st!

Whether they've got paws, claws, scales, or feathers, everyone's invited!

Hi friends, Alvin here! Look how tiny I am! 🐹

My latest transformation turned me into a hamster, and I figured being this small meant my needs would be pretty simple. A little cage, a wheel, some food...what more could I need?

Turns out, tiny hamster does NOT mean tiny needs!

With help from my friends at Animal Medical Center, I learned all about deep bedding for burrowing, properly sized wheels, places to hide, foraging, enrichment, and plenty of room to explore!

Our 4th Annual Pet Costume Contest is coming! 🐾🎃

It’s officially spooky season, and one of our favorite Animal Medical Center traditions is back! We can’t wait to see what our patients are dressing up as this year. 👻🧙‍♀️🦇

How to Enter:
📸 Email a photo of your pet in costume to [email protected]
🐾 Be sure to include your pet’s name and what they’re dressed as!

Submissions close October 23rd at 12:00 PM.

Then, it’s time to vote! 🗳️ Photos will be posted right here on our page, and voting will run October 25th–31st.

🏆 We’ll announce our 2026 Pet Costume Contest winner on November 1st and contact the winning pet’s owner about their prize!

That’s a Wrap on Our Tips & Tricks to Beat Boredom Series! 🐾

From puzzle feeders and sniffing games to cardboard boxes, foraging toys, climbing opportunities, and everything in between, there are SO many ways to add a little more fun to our pets’ days!

No matter if your best friend has fur, feathers, or scales, enrichment doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. Sometimes the simplest ideas end up being their absolute favorites. 💚

Tips & Tricks to Beat Boredom: Bird Edition! 🦜

Birds are smart, curious, busy little creatures, and they need plenty to do!

In the wild, birds spend a huge part of their day flying, foraging for food, exploring, problem-solving, and interacting with their flock. Our companion birds may have a much smaller world, but they still have all those same instincts!

That’s why enrichment is such an important part of caring for them. Foraging opportunities, shreddable and destructible toys, training, climbing, exploring new things, and plenty of safe social interaction can all help keep those busy bird brains occupied. 🧠🪶

And enrichment doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated! Sometimes a cardboard box or a piece of paper you’re actively trying to use is apparently the greatest toy ever invented. 😂
