One more Izzy update, we went to the vet today to have a proper look at what could be going on…
Turns out a lot and she’s really been masking it well! Issues with her hips and lower back!

With the medication working so well and her looking really good with them, they want to keep trying her with them for now, so hopefully it means we have a bit longer to be with her!
Unfortunately, it does also mean that the poor old lady is no longer allowed to swim as it could cause more damage than it’s worth! 🥲

A wee Izzy update: her medication is helping, she’s able to stand up on her own again and although she is a bit stiff still, she seems all round happier and honestly is taking all the opportunity to get up and move
Now, I don’t want to get any hopes up and say that Izzy’s going to be fine, as personally I don’t see it being a long term solution.. but for now, she’s happy and currently enjoying a new wee lease of life!

Normally I want the owners/fosters with me for training their dogs, however, since Kia is living in kennels and rescue staff are busy with so many other dogs, it means I may have the odd time where I do training with Kia alone
Like today!
It actually gave me a very good idea of what she’s like when first having to learn to trust someone still so new to her. When I picked her up, she was very unsure about coming near me, which is understandable! We sat for a few minutes just allowing her to come closer and try to suss me out. As soon as she discovered that I had treats, she was ready to go😂
When I last saw her, she was also alert to a lot of things going on around her, like people, dogs, sheep etc. Today, she was actually very relaxed about it all and very responsive when we were working! I don’t expect it to be this easy every week, however that was amazing for week one!
Very proud of her, and can absolutely see her in a home with someone who is dedicated to her ❤️

With hotter weather starting to peak through, it’s important to acknowledge the risks that come with it. Heat stroke is not worth going out for a walk in the middle of the day.
The dogs(and your own) safety is the priority, the walk is not!
If possible, it’s best to avoid taking your dogs out for walks in the middle of the day, when the temperature is at its highest. Of course not everyone has a garden where their dogs can just roam and relax, so they’re are some exceptions… however if you’re needing to take your dog out to the toilet, make sure you can get to shade and take water with you.

A little dog with a massive personality!
Miss Dolly is joining for training. Whilst she is incredibly sweet with people and loves interacting with them, the outside world is just very overwhelming, to the point your eardrums start to hurt because of how loud her screeching is 🫥
This is what unfortunately puts people off wanting to rehome her, because it is a lot to handle!
However we will be spending plenty time helping her with this, including once she finds her potential forever home!

Meet Kia! Kia is a little anxious around strangers, so we will be working on her feeling safe and feeling like she is able to trust whoever her future owner may be!

Kia is currently living in kennels. She is looking to hopefully have a forever home one day. Someone who is willing to care for her through her anxieties and prove they worthy of being trusted by her and when that day happens, she will soar!
I will also be around to continue helping them too when that day arrives❤️
