A HUGE thank you to the Alberta SPCA for an incredible donation of 42 cases of Orijen dog food, provided through the Greater Good Program! 🐾🤍

This is an absolutely incredible contribution to our rescue and one that will make such a meaningful difference for the dogs in our care. Food is one of our biggest ongoing needs, and 42 cases will go a LONG way toward keeping bowls (and bellies) full!

Donations like this also help our rescue dollars stretch further, not only allowing more of our funds to go toward other care costs, but ultimately allowing us to say ‘yes’ to more dogs in need!

We are so appreciative of the Alberta SPCA for thinking of Sheep River Dog Rescue and sharing this incredible donation with us. Your work has made a difference for countless animals across our province, and we’re incredibly grateful to have you in our corner! 🙏🏻🐶

WOW! To say we’re grateful would be an understatement! 🥹🐾

We are absolutely blown away by the continued support we receive from Amazon! Today, 60 boxes arrived filled with an incredible amount of supplies we’re currently in need of for the dogs in our care.

And the generosity gets to go even further. We’re so happy to be able to pass along the cat supplies we received to other local animal rescues, helping support some of our feline friends too! 🐱🤍

Meet Cookie! 🍪

Cookie is almost finished his quarantine, which means this sweet little guy is officially ready to start looking for his forever family!

Cookie is a very affectionate pup who loves being around people. Despite having a bit of a rough start to life, he has so much love to give and is happiest soaking up all the attention he can get. He’s also wonderful with kids and loves having people around to play and hang out with.

For such a young pup, Cookie is already doing amazingly well at home! He has gone several days without an accident, sleeps soundly through the night, and is getting into a great routine with his foster family. 💤 He’s a pretty chill little guy who loves lounging on the carpet with a good chewie, and fitting in a solid puppy nap of course! 🥰

When he’s ready to play, tug is one of his favourites! He’s curious, playful, and has been getting more confident every day. He was initially a little unsure when seeing or hearing other dogs from a distance, but he’s already made great progress as he settles in and learns that the world around him isn’t so scary.

Cookie has already been through more than any puppy ever should. This sweet boy deserves nothing more than a safe, loving forever home where the rest of his story can be a whole lot brighter. 🤍

Three little cuties need a ride from Regina to Calgary! Let’s make it happen for these pups! 🚗🐾

UPDATE: Ride found! 🩵

Is anyone from Regina heading to Calgary this weekend who could give these three sweethearts a ride to our partner rescue in Okotoks, about 30 minutes outside Calgary, this Friday, September 11th?! 🥹🐾

We’re really hoping to make the 11th work because there are several volunteers and fosters involved, all of whom work full-time jobs, and it’s the one day that works well for everyone. 🙏💕

We’ll cover your gas, provide the kennels and all the supplies you need, and trust us… most of our pups do great on transports and are pretty happy to snooze for the drive! 💓

Tommy is officially the last of our Jeans Litter still searching for his forever home!

This sweet boy has been doing so well in foster care. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is already an awesome little walking buddy, and loves getting out to explore and meet other dogs along the way.

Tommy has the perfect mix of goofy puppy energy and a surprisingly good off switch. He’s always up for some fun, but he’s just as happy hanging out with his people when it’s time to relax. He loves other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion.

Food is pretty much his entire world, which makes him very motivated when it comes to training. 😂 He’s still working on some classic puppy manners, including learning what those little puppy teeth are and aren’t meant for… but with an adorable face like his, who can blame him?!

One by one, Tommy has watched all of his Jeans Litter siblings head off to their new homes. Now we’d love nothing more than to find the family waiting for him too!
