This came in wearing 14 pounds of river dirt today! That pike on the floor was only the 'pre' groom!

Jazmine the Bernedoodle came in today carrying approximately 14 pounds of river mud and enough packed coat to build a second dog. 😭😂

Three shampoos and one emotionally supportive rubber ducky later, I got her done. 🐤✨

But, the really big transformation wasn't her hair cut....

Look at how WHITE she is now compared to her last groom just 7 weeks ago. Her family removed chicken from her diet after we talked about allergy staining and the difference is pretty incredible. Last time her legs, face, belly and bum were super orange from licking and saliva staining.

THIS is why I’m constantly talking about skin and coat health. Sometimes what people think is just “dirty doodle colour” is actually irritation happening from the inside out. Jaz doesn’t just look better today, I guarantee you she also feels way better.

Also, those Bernedoodle coats are no joke. 😂 That thick, double coat felts SO easily and holds absolutely everything.

Totally worth it though.
Because LOOK AT HER. 🤍 Gorgeous!

Also, the ducky stayed for the entire appointment because apparently emotional support duckies are now part of my grooming process.

I’m not even fighting it anymore. The rubber duck cult is growing.

Meet Po 🖤🤍🦆

Po is a 13-month-old mini Bernedoodle who came in for his grooming appointment today and was SUCH a good boy. Honestly, puppies and adolescents can sometimes be a little chaotic at this age, but Po was calm, patient, sweet, and beautifully behaved from start to finish.

I completely forgot to grab a before photo (professional groomer of the year over here 😂), but I did manage to capture his very serious rubber ducky bath photo.

Mimi came in this morning with significant matting, so I did what was kindest for her skin, which was a full reset. ✂️
When coats are maintained every 6–8 weeks, we can keep length. When they’re not, comfort and skin health has to come first.
No judgment. Just education and care. 💛

Mid-bath emotional support ducky therapy. 🦆

Exhibit C:
Freshly restored floof, pretending he has NEVER made a bad decision in his life.

Odin was such a sweetheart for his giant spa day. 💙

But let us all take a moment to appreciate the absolute audacity of showing up looking like Exhibit A while acting like I was somehow the problem here 😆

80 lbs of hair.
14 gallons of water.
One emotional support duck.
And approximately 47 business days of blow drying.

Worth it. ✨
