Every month, our Lakeshore team chooses one very special patient to be our Pet of the Month!

There’s no contest and no voting — POTM is simply the pet who has captured our hearts. ❤️ The one who makes us smile when we see their name on the schedule, makes us laugh during their visit, or has somehow become one of those patients we all know and love.

They might LOVE coming to see us… or they might make it very clear they’d rather be anywhere else. 😂 Either way, some pets just have a way of stealing our hearts.

Cherry Garcia has us all smiling. 💕🐾
Some of you may have already seen the BC SPCA's story about this tiny kitten, Cherry Garcia. Born with pectus excavatum (a condition where the chest doesn't develop normally), every breath was a struggle for this little fighter.

Our talented Dr. Ellis Flora performed Cherry's corrective surgery, and since then, we've been seeing this little fighter for her weekly checkups. We're encouraged by her progress and remain optimistic that she's on the right path.

Behind every brave little patient is an incredible team. We're always so impressed with the dedication of the .kelowna team and Cherry's dedicated foster family for the love and care they've given her every step of the way. And selfishly, we love having her back every week 💖

Cherry still has a journey ahead of her, and the BC SPCA has launched a fundraiser to help cover the cost of her ongoing care.

Thank you for cheering Cherry Garcia on with us—we're all rooting for this tiny girl. 💜🐱
