🌙 Midnight’s BIG Bladder Stone 🌙
When 11-year-old Midnight the Shih Tzu X came to see us, her mum had noticed she was needing to urinate more often and just did not seem quite herself.
While these changes can sometimes seem minor, our vets knew they warranted a closer look. What we discovered was anything but small...
X-rays revealed a massive bladder stone (urolith) taking up space in Midnight's bladder. In fact, it was one of the largest we have seen in quite some time! Once we saw the size of the stone, surgery was the only option.
Midnight underwent a cystotomy to remove the stone, and we are delighted to say the procedure was a complete success. 🙌
Even our team was amazed when we saw the stone after removal. Swipe across to see the culprit for yourself! 👀
After plenty of rest, recovery and lots of love at home, Midnight is feeling like herself again.
These days you will find her living her best life at Spoon Bay with her brother Licorice, running, swimming and enjoying the beach like a puppy once more.
A huge thank you to Midnight's mum for recognising those subtle changes and seeking veterinary care when she did. Sometimes the smallest signs can be the first clue that something much bigger is going on.
We are so proud of you, Midnight. Here's to many more happy beach adventures ahead!
