⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING H5N1 BIRD FLU ⚠️
❗️The H5 strain of avian influenza has reached Australia and it is very important to stay vigilant around domestic birds, wild birds and wildlife.
Here’s what to do if you come across any injured, sick or deceased birds or wildlife:
⚠️ Do not touch them.
⚠️ Keep children and pets away.
⚠️ Record what you see: including the location, number of affected animals and their condition (from a safe distance).
⚠️ Report any sick, injured or deceased birds and wildlife to the Emergency Animal Disease hotline on 1800 675 888.
Here at Kanwal Vet, we ask that our avian patients wait outside of the clinic on arrival and if you have any sick or injured wildlife needing veterinary attention, please contact the emergency animal disease hotline on 1800 675 888 before heading to a veterinary hospital.
