💔 FLY HIGH OVER THE RAINBOW BRIDGE, MAX 🌈🐾

Unfortunately, we have some heartbreaking news to share about our beautiful boy, Max.

As some of you may have seen in our previous posts, Max experienced complications following his dental surgery. He was hospitalised for three days, and our vets and team did absolutely everything we could to try and save him. Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, Max just wasn’t able to bounce back, and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go. 💔

Fly high over the rainbow bridge, little man. We are so sorry we couldn’t save you. You deserved so much more, and we wish things could have ended differently for you. 🌈🐾

This is our very first loss since opening Back Street Cats Rescue, and it’s hit our team incredibly hard. We put our hearts into every animal that comes through our doors, and losing Max has been absolutely devastating. We are so grateful to our vets for everything they did to try to give him another chance.

Unfortunately, Max’s treatment and hospitalisation have also left our newly opened rescue with a significant veterinary bill. We know times are tough for so many people, but if anyone is in a position to make a donation, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world to us.

Every donation helps us continue giving cats the care they need, including those who come to us needing urgent veterinary treatment. We never want finances to be the reason we can’t help another cat in need. ❤️

🐾 LITTLE MAN IS LOOKING FOR A BARN TO CALL HOME 🐾

Little Man is looking for a special place where he can live out his years in safety and comfort. ❤️

Little Man was born on the streets and has had very little human interaction, meaning he is quite a spicy boy who isn’t particularly fond of people just yet. Because of this, we feel he would be best suited to a home where he can have his own space and live life on his own terms.

We are looking for a farm with a secure shed, stable or barn where Little Man can shelter, sleep safely and have access to his food and fresh water. He doesn’t necessarily have to live on a farm, as long as the right setup is available for him.

Little Man will need a slow and secure release into his new environment to give him time to learn where his home is, where he can find his food and water, and to help ensure he stays safely on the property.

He may not be the type of cat who wants to curl up on your lap, but he still deserves a safe place to call home, with someone who understands and respects his independent nature. ❤️

🚨 URGENT DONATIONS NEEDED FOR MAX 🚨

💔 Max desperately needs our help. 💔

Thank you to everyone who has been following Max’s journey and supporting him so far. Unfortunately, things have taken a difficult turn, and we urgently need help covering his veterinary expenses.

Last Wednesday, Max underwent intensive dental surgery due to the severe dental disease he was suffering from. Sadly, the infection from one of his teeth was so severe that it had affected his jaw, leaving it actually broken. His jaw had to be wired together during surgery.

Since his operation, Max has struggled to eat and has only been able to manage very small amounts of food. 😢

Unfortunately, his condition has deteriorated to the point where he has now needed to be hospitalised. He is receiving fluids to help with his dehydration and is being tube-fed because he simply hasn’t been able to eat enough on his own.

Max has also lost a significant amount of weight. He was already very thin when he first came into our care due to the severity of his dental issues, and seeing him struggle like this has been incredibly difficult.

💔 We are now facing a substantial veterinary bill and urgently need donations to help cover the cost of Max’s treatment and hospitalisation.

As a rescue, we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters to help animals like Max get the care they desperately need. Veterinary expenses can quickly add up, especially when intensive surgery and hospitalisation are involved.

We have six beautiful kittens in care who will need to be desexed as they get older, and we’re reaching out to our amazing supporters for a little help to make this happen.

Thankfully, these little ones have their beautiful mamma with them, so they can stay with her until they’re old enough to be weaned. Once the kittens are weaned and mamma has had her vet work done, she will be able to return to her owners. ❤️🐱

We want to make sure all six kittens get the veterinary care they need, including desexing, so they can grow up healthy and have the best possible start in life.

🐾 HAZE IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 🐾

Meet Haze, a beautiful 8-month-old girl who is ready to find a loving family of her own. ❤️

Haze was rescued from a farm where she had very little human interaction before coming into care. Because of this, she is still learning to trust people and feel comfortable around them.

Since arriving in care, Haze has come such a long way, and we are so proud of her progress. 🥰

She is still a shy girl and will need someone who understands the importance of patience. Haze isn’t a lap cat, but she will happily sit on the couch beside you and enjoy your company in her own way.

With time, patience and understanding, we’d love to see her continue to grow in confidence.

Haze would also love a home with another friendly cat for companionship. 🐱

update on Max our 12yr old Balinese
Max has already been through so much with watching his people pass away one after another, having eye removal for glaucoma, all before coming to our care.

Well Max had his vet visit yesturday, and went in for emergency dental, where he has lost majority of his teeth.
The vets also discovered that one of his back teeth was that badly rotten and infected that it had split his jaw bone.
He is now supporting wire on his bottom jaw to help secure it back in place while it heals
Max is going to need round the clock care for next few weeks while he recovers and ongoing vet visit,

we would like to thank Animal Clinic Maffra for their amazing dedication and care towards max

these pics where taken not long after he got home .

Being a small rescue , this emergency dental has left us with our very first vet bill.
We are asking for some help to cover the remaining bill for Max
we simply could not leave this boy in pain and mouth full of infection.

🐾 PEARL IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 🐾

Meet our beautiful girl Pearl 🤍

Pearl is a gorgeous 4-year-old Ragdoll who absolutely loves being around people. She is a very loving girl and enjoys having her humans around her.

Pearl does have some toileting issues, so she will need a patient and understanding home that is prepared to work with her and give her the time she needs.

When first meeting small dogs or other cats, Pearl can be a little hissy, but she adjusts pretty quickly once she gets used to them. With the right introductions and a little patience, she settles in well.

🌿 Access to a secure outdoor enclosure would be great for Pearl but is not required.

🏡 Pearl is looking for:
