Athena getting some heeling practice in (apologies for the Pjs!).

By the time she’s matured she’ll have a street loose lead heel, a sport heel and just to shine it on, a tacticool heel as well.

Having a dog move away from you is equally as important as having a dog come back.

In the video Athena is doing both and learning to stay connected to me.

Realistically she’s a puppy and keeping connected is dependent on the session time frame and what distractions are around.

I use the muzzle for a variety of different applications and it’s something I instil at a young age.

Vet visits, safety around other dogs or people and also muzzle fighting for my more serious dogs.

I recorded this video for a client and it’s an example of what you’ll find in the Rottweiler Cartel community!

Three things to work on in the house:

1. Arousal control
2. Lay down on command
3. Don’t mug my hand when there’s food in it.

This is the first session where Athena has offered the down position and thereby inventing this position herself.

Self discovery is king!!

Now that she has done that I will remove the food lure and let her offer that behaviour so I can put it on cue.

What do down stays look like in your house?

I have some very powerful dogs in this house and having a calm switch is vital!

Athena takes everything in her stride and clearly had enough of waiting so she curled up and went to sleep 😂

Nothing sexy just repetition!

I’ve introduced a framing box which will now cue Athena wherever we go so I can start to build behaviours here and then generalise them elsewhere.

Want to see the full session and others like it?

The Rottweiler Cartel online community is coming soon!

Become one of the foundation members and receive a personalised challenge coin. Open only to the first 50 subscribers.

Anyone who buys a puppy from Von Sentinel gets free access for life.

No snacks were harmed in the making of this video 🤗

What’s the saying? Never work with dogs or children!

She’s becoming a bloody pest!

I like my dogs a little bit naughty and plenty of thug and Athena is not disappointing 😂

The mighty hunter Athena protecting her property from the dangerous Bogong moth!

Thank god she was there to save me, I don’t know what I would’ve done!

Watching her explore the environment and push the limits is always fun with a couple of rescue missions being enacted as her ambitions far exceed her capabilities 😂
