In light of veterinary nursing day yesterday, we wanted to show you a (small) snippet of the work our incredible nurses do behind the scenes here at SGAH 🩺

Our nurses are responsible for carrying out the following tasks in clinic:

- Monitor patients under anaesthesia
- Recover patients from an anaesthetic
- Place and remove IV catheters
- Collect blood & urine from patients
- Run in house pathology (eg. blood & urine)
- Place medication requests with vet team
- Surgery & hospital admissions & discharges
- Assist vets with consults
- Nurse consults (post surgery checks, weigh ins, nail trims, parasite prevention)
- Record vets surgery notes & help bill procedures
- Draw up & administer medications
- Feed & toilet patients
- Order, unpack & manage medications & stock
- Reception duties (payments, phone calls, emails)
- Clean, clean & more cleaning!
- Provide comfort to every patient in clinic (our nurses are exceptionally good at this ☺️)

Along with so much more! Our nurses work along side our wonderful vets to provide the best care possible for both you and your fur babies. We are so proud of our SGAH team 💚💙
