Thank you for your dedication, guidance and the countless hours you put into caring for our patients and supporting our team. Running a veterinary practice takes a lot of hard work, patience and heart, and we appreciate all that you do, both seen and unseen.

Thank you for the knowledge you share, the challenges you tackle, and the commitment you bring to Strand Animal Hospital every day.

URGENT WARNING: Increase in suspected pet poisoning cases in our area

We have recently seen an increase in patients with suspected poisoning and want to remind pet owners to please be vigilant.

Keep an eye out for strange food or suspicious substances lying in your garden, driveway or along your usual walking routes. Don’t allow your pets to eat anything you cannot identify.

Signs of possible poisoning may include:

* Vomiting or diarrhoea
* Excessive drooling
* Weakness or unusual tiredness
* Tremors or seizures
* Difficulty breathing
* Unusual behaviour or loss of coordination
* Loss of appetite

Symptoms can vary depending on the substance, and you may not see signs immediately.

If you suspect your pet has eaten something suspicious or may have been poisoned, contact your vet immediately. Do not wait for symptoms to appear.
Do not try to make your pet vomit!
Take to your nearest Vet!
