Team Appreciation Week was a 10/10 and we aren't sure we can top it next year! We try so hard to make our team feel supported, appreciated and their opinion matters every day of the week. BUT Team Week is the one week of the year that we take it to the extreme and try to have the BEST time. We think it's safe to say we did just that!!

In clinic vendor hosted lunches everyday, nerf battles, and Veterinary BINGO for prizes. Our leaders planned a few spooky photo sessions as a little surprise for everyone (stay tuned for these to be shared).

Friday we took the entire day to enjoy offsite activities. BJ @ Pink Elephant Tattoo & Piercing Studio let us take over his part of the shop to allow anyone on our team who wanted a tattoo to pick one of his amazing flash tattoo designs! This was a request by several of our team members this year so being able to partner with them to offer such a unique experience was truly a dream coming to life!! A time that many of us will never forget 🤩

We took a short break from that and went to B&B theaters in Ankeny (right down the road from Pink Elephant) and we had lunch and we took over the arcade. At the end we cashed in our points and stocked up on more nerf and nerf type of protections.

We appreciate all of you understanding while we took this much needed time with our team! We look forward to sharing more of our shenanigans with you in the future!! 😍

From the very first puppy/kitten visits to providing end of life care and everything in between, our team members unselfishly commit not only their physical presence but also bear a significant mental and emotional burden while pledging to advocate for you and your pet to receive the necessary support and care. Each individual on our team plays a crucial role in ensuring your pet's well-being and happiness, striving to provide you with the best possible experience. This week, we assure you that we will continue to be here for each and every one of you. However, it is also an opportunity for us to acknowledge those who often carry their responsibilities silently - showing them how much we acknowledge their efforts, understand their contributions, and deeply value each one of them. Please join us in expressing gratitude towards our team members who consistently show up day after day because frankly, this job is not suited for the faint-hearted. We are immensely grateful that these exceptionally talented and resilient individuals have chosen our practice as the platform for pursuing their career aspirations. Wishing everyone a Happy Team Appreciation Week 2026!

"Hey! Hey! HEY YOU!! Don't forget that my servants won't be available today, they want you to think that they will be training and learning how to clean teeth more efficiently and thoroughly, as well as some other things they mumbled on about. But don't let them fool you, they are really just going to be telling me how cute I am and scratching my belly all day. You don't mind right?? Yeah okay...."

If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency please visit 👉 https://www.fampetvet.com/helpful-links for a list of places to contact for immediate assistance! We will see you all tomorrow (Wednesday) when this little monster let's us come back to work again.

🌼 Día de los Mu***os | Honoring Our Beloved Pets 🐾

Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) is celebrated on the first couple days of November as a time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed.

Throughout the month of October, we will have an Ofrenda on display as a special way to remember and honor the beloved pets who are no longer with us. 🕯️🐾

We invite anyone who would like to participate to bring a framed photo of a beloved pet to place on our Ofrenda. To help make sure there is room to honor as many of our furry friends as possible, please keep photos 4x6 or smaller and framed.

💛 Want your photo back? No problem! At the end of Día de los Mu***os, we will reach out to let you know when your photo is ready to be picked up.

We look forward to creating a beautiful space together to remember and celebrate the pets who will always hold a special place in our hearts. 🌈🐶🐱

Please check your yard and neighborhoods for any babies blown from the storms!! Message or text me at 515-770-8262 with a photo!

There’s usually a momma looking for them after the rain, and reuniting is possible if baby isn’t injured or cold!

Ending our day with the cutest little kitten, Dook!

He enjoyed our fear free approach to his ear cleaning this afternoon and I mean who wouldn't want to be fed cheese during their doctor visit? Can we get human med in on this idea??!!
