Buttercup is a gentle Cane Corso who’s ready to leave her rough start behind and begin a life filled with love and security. Though she can be a little shy at first, she quickly blossoms into a sweet, playful companion who enjoys toys, soft affection, and time with her people. Buttercup walks nicely on a loose leash but is still building strength and confidence, so she’ll thrive with a confident, dog-savvy home with older teens who can guide her with patience and consistency. A few minutes in extreme heat can lead to heatstroke, dehydration, burned paw pads, and other life threatening emergencies. If you wouldn’t walk barefoot on the pavement, your dog shouldn’t either.

Meet Penelope! Penelope is a sweet and affectionate 2-year-old hound mix whose favorite thing in the world might just be getting pets! Friendly and eager to meet new people, she quickly wins hearts with her soft eyes, gentle nature, and adorable habit of rolling over for belly rubs. This lovely girl is food motivated, knows “sit,” and enjoys spending time with both people and other dogs. While she can be a little unsure when first meeting new canine friends, she warms up nicely with proper introductions and has shown herself to be dog social. Penelope is looking for a family who will shower her with the affection she loves and give her plenty of opportunities to continue building her confidence. She may even do well with a properly matched canine sibling! She has also passed her cat test, making her a great candidate for a variety of homes.

Thelma (white/grey pup) is a sweet 2 year young terrier mix who is learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. While she can be timid in new situations, her loving personality shines through as she immediately seeks affection, reassurance, and kind words from her people. This gentle girl loves being pet and gains confidence through positive encouragement. Once she feels safe, she enjoys exploring her surroundings and showing off her curious side. Thelma is also dog social and has done well meeting other friendly dogs, even joining in for gentle play after taking some time to warm up. Thelma is looking for a patient home that will help her continue building confidence at her own pace. With a little love and reassurance, this sweetheart is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion.

Louise (grey pup) may be a little shy when first meeting new people and exploring new places, but beneath her timid exterior is a sweet, affectionate girl who is looking for someone to help her build confidence. When she’s feeling unsure, Louise seeks comfort from her people, happily leaning in for affection and reassurance. Louise is still adjusting to the world around her and can be sensitive to unfamiliar noises and environments.
