These are our very own rescue photos - what we see everyday.

Yes, the beaches are beautiful. The sunsets are unforgettable. But behind the tourism ads is a heartbreaking reality too many people ignore.

When you visit Puerto Rico, you will see it for yourself — starving dogs wandering the streets, abandoned puppies on beaches, injured cats hiding in ruins, animals fighting every single day just to survive.

Why is this happening?
�Because there are still not enough accessible programs for:�• Spay & neuter�• Low-cost vaccines and veterinary care�• Responsible pet ownership education�• Microchipping and licensing�• Island-wide databases and rescue resources�• Protection for the voiceless
And the truth is… many stay silent because talking about the crisis is “bad for tourism.” But ignoring suffering will never solve it.

The animals of Puerto Rico deserve better. They deserve compassion, protection, and a future.

Every single day, rescuers in Puerto Rico face impossible choices.
And right now, our rescue fur-iend Mo of Polly's Rescue & Foster needs us more than ever.

Rescuer Monisha Rios is battling lupus and now a respiratory infection, yet she continues showing up for animals who have nobody else. While caring for her own beloved dog Fred in his final days, she is also fighting to care for 3 rescue dogs who desperately need help.

These dogs are safe because Mo refused to look away.

But she cannot do this alone anymore.

We urgently need:
🐾 A foster for Kata
🐾 Foster(s) for Luke & Leia (together or separately)

This is the reality rescuers face every day — exhausted, heartbroken, sick themselves, but still choosing compassion over and over again.

From being strays Puerto Rico to new beginnings in Boston these two brothers are now healthier, safer, cozier than ever before. They are now truly living like they should!

💔 2 more Dumped. 2 more trying to survive - alone. Left behind on Los Machos Beach in Ceiba, Puerto Rico

Luke and Leia — two sweet siblings — were found abandoned in a desolate area of Los Machos Beach with no food, no safety, and no one coming back for them. We will never understand how anyone could leave such loving souls behind like that.

But thankfully, someone with a huge heart stepped in.

Their foster mama and fellow rescuer, Mo was already carrying so much. She had a sick rescue German Shepherd in the car and is caring for an elderly dog in the final stages of life. Most people would have said, “Its impossible I can’t.” But she couldn’t turn away from these innocent babies knowing what would happen if no one helped them.

So she chose compassion. She chose action. She chose THEM and we say “let’s do it”!

And now, is standing by her side to help give Luke and Leia the future they deserve. 🐾✨

Welcome to your new beginning, Luke and Leia. Your lives matter, and from this moment forward, you will never be forgotten again.

🙏🏼Found in a box abandoned on Los Machos beach, Puerto Rico from barely surviving… to getting their second chance. 🥹✈️

The PYT Puppies were fighting for their lives. Even though many turned their backs or looked away some special heroes stepped up and stepped in 🥹🙏🏼
Now… look at them. 🥰 Because of our quick action, a couple loving fosters & and YOU they are Stronger. Brighter. Ready for love. ❤️

Because of you — your prayers, your support, your donations — they made it through the hardest part. But their journey isn’t over yet… it’s just beginning.

This weekend, they fly to New York where they’ll get the second chance they deserve with .bottom.rescue . This is where their path to forever families truly begins. 🇵🇷✈️🗽🏡

✈️ Flight cost: $95 per puppy

We’re raising funds to cover their:
• Remaining medical bills
• Vaccines
• Their flight to safety

We know we’ve been not doing our best with posts lately… and we’re sorry. I’m sorry.

The truth is, the last 2½ months have been ALOT - we have been so busy with these babies. Unexpected rescue after rescue. Disappointment after disappointment. Multiple emergency medical cases. Going in so many directions for so many important situations. Long days, longer nights, and nonstop fighting for animals who need us. Ive personally been so deep in it and life that posting updates has fallen behind—but the work hasn’t stopped for a second.

And if we’re being real… this is one of those moments where I can feel so completely drained. It’s exhausting- Mentally. Emotionally. Financially. We are a tiny organization each case we take on has potential to drain our funds and capabilities completely. 😭These are the times it gets heavy, we have to say no to so many. 😞 These are the times when giving up seriously starts to creep into our minds. 😔😣

But then we remember why we started: because every life we rescue matters. And as long as they keep fighting, so will we. 🙏🏼

Right now, we need you more than ever.
Your donations keep these rescues alive. Honestly that’s the reality.

🖤National Black Cat Day 🖤
A message from us at Furiend Flight and our very own “spooky” rescue cats — Benito and Ceiba. These are our beautiful black rescue cats who were once abandoned on the streets of Old San Juan and Los Machos Beach, Puerto Rico. 🥹

Like so many others, they faced abandonment, uncertainty, and fear. These two sweet loving peaceful, affectionate companions are reminder of what rescue and compassion is all about. 🖤

Black cats are often the last to be rescued or adopted, yet they are among the most loyal, gentle, and resilient animals you’ll ever meet. Myths and superstitions still lead to them being passed by, but in truth, they bring warmth, grace, and quiet strength to any home.

This National Black Cat Day, let’s challenge old beliefs and celebrate these incredible animals for what they are — symbols of resilience, love, and second chances.
