Every adoption here at CHS is cherished and celebrated, but occasionally we have one that brings literal tears to our eyes. ❤️‍🩹🐾

Maui came to us in rough shape. He had experienced some sort of abuse and head trauma and had unexplainable neurological side effects. But we knew the right family was out there for him. ✨

After months in an amazing foster home, he met his match! Now he is living his best life with his papa being loved and snuggled every day. 🥰 Happy gotcha day, you two! 🏡

“It’s a Triple CHS Sunday Success Story! It’s amazing how cats thrive with a little patience, lots of love and time to adjust! Pixy and Nandor (Sugar Baby) were 2 very shy bonded kitties adopted Dec, 2023 that we could not touch. Hank was adopted Dec, 2025 and Pixy was not thrilled, but is slowly accepting him. Hank and Nandor are best buddies and love to run and play together. Pixy and Nandor are still very bonded, and both love to be snuggled and daily they lay in our laps.Thanks CHS for the best cats ever!”🥰

🚧 Important Shelter Update 🚧

We’re making improvements to our parking lot to better serve our visitors and pets, which means temporary changes to our public hours.

🗓️ June 1–3: Shelter will be completely closed to the public
🗓️ June 4–6: Open by appointment only
🗓️ Week of June 8: Shelter will be closed

Want to drop off donations? A donation bin will be located at the end of our driveway, before the cones, for easy drop-off during construction.❤️

We apologize for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience and support as we complete these much-needed improvements for our shelter and the animals in our care. 🐾

Rest assured our team will still be caring for all of the animals during this time, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back once the project is complete. 🤗❤️🐾 Thank you!

Rufus is currently in an amazing foster home but he needs a forever home!🏡❤️🐾

“This past weekend we were outside basically all day everyday working on our deck. There was lots of noise and power tools and Rufus was totally unbothered by all of it, he is just so darn happy to be outside. That’s him on his “bed” chewing a bone for several hours while we worked. In the video, we made him go inside where he laid by the door to watch still. Despite the nail gun in the background, he was still so sleepy from all the fresh air and could hardly keep his eyes open.”😆
