Does anyone have an area rug that you'd be willing to donate? Any condition is ok, stains too as long as it's not from anything that could harm the bunnies. We're hoping to switch out the sheets on the floor of the bun pens to rugs so they'll be easier to vacuum and not get sucked up in the shop-vac. Update on Chester and Bluebell! Both are recovering from their spays well. In case you missed it, Chester is a girl 💗 Chester's sponsor has renamed her Nimbus 🌩 she's a fluffy little storm cloud. Nimbus is pending adoption (depending on if she and the adopter's bunny get along). Bluebell is available for adoption! She is such a princess, look at her all cozy on her pillow 😍 please reach out if you are interested! She is in Rapid City but can travel if needed 😊

Chester is a good example that it can be hard to tell bunnies' genders. That's part of why it's always a good idea to get a vet exam done if you get a new bunny. If you adopt from our rescue, you'll get the peace of mind of knowing their correct gender and knowing they are fixed already. Unfixed female bunnies are especially likely to get reproductive cancers at a young age if they aren't spayed. So it's important for their long term health to get them fixed even if they are indoors and not around males.

Update on Chester and Bluebell! Both are recovering from their spays well. In case you missed it, Chester is a girl 💗 Chester's sponsor has renamed her Nimbus 🌩 she's a fluffy little storm cloud. Update: the bunny was picked up by one of our previous adopters, Donna. The plan had been to send the bun off to their new home today, but considering how underweight the poor thing is, he/she is going to stay with Donna until their weight stabilizes. The bunny's ribs are palpable and he/she has fleas, not in good shape. Please send prayers and good thoughts for a speedy recovery! 🙏

Thank you so much to the kind person who caught the bun and kept them safe until a home could be found, and thank you for not giving up when other rescues couldn't help. Thank you to Donna for looking after the bun, and to everyone who offered to adopt! You are all heros and it means the world to this bunny, who almost certainly would not have made it otherwise. 🦸‍♂️

I also want to clarify that the person who caught the bun did the right thing, she recognized an animal in need, caught it, and gave it an enclosure using what she had on hand, while reaching out to multiple rescues and the shelter. The fishtank was temporary and infinitely better than leaving the bun outside. I shared the current situation to convey the urgency needed in finding a home. Please don't be upset with her for the temporary set up, she isn't the one who dumped this bunny. Given the size and age, we think the little guy was likely dumped after Easter 🐰. Domestic bunnies cannot survive outside like wild bunnies can. They starve and get infested with bugs, or worse. Please help us spread the word about this misconception.

The plan currently is for the bunny to go to the first adopter who reached out once they are up to weight. If you messaged about adopting this bunny and are still interested, we do have three wonderful buns in Rapid City looking for homes 🏡 Thank you again to everyone who helped this bun! Y'all give us hope ❤️

Urgent Rapid City/Black Hills: someone found a stray bunny and has taken him/her in. She is not able to keep the bun and he/she is currently in a makeshift setup in a fishtank in a garage. There is a real concern for the bunnies' safety due to heat since the garage is not air conditioned. 🥵

Our rescue is full and still has waitlist buns trying to get in, but given the urgency we are doing a courtesy post, is there anyone who could give this little guy or girl a safe home? They look like a young bunny, possibly a dump from Easter.

Chester needs prayers and all the good vibes you can send! 🙏 This handsome is scheduled to be neutered tomorrow but he hasn't gotten any donations for his procedure 💔 Can you help him? Every bit counts! We are doing a naming fundraiser and the highest donor gets to name him. Wouldn't you like to name this cute little fluffball? He even did his happy zooms to show you! We have a spay/neuter clinic coming up on Monday 🩺 Bluebell and a new, very fluffy, gray, male bunny are getting fixed! This means they will be available to adopt soon 🏡 Each spay and neuter costs about $80, usually a bit more after pain meds are dosed.
