Welcome six-year-old Phoebe!
We're happy you're no longer wandering the San Jose streets, and we're thankful to the shelter staff for helping.

Michele, her foster mom, is caring for her and showering her with great love.
A few days ago, Phoebe developed severe pain and needed to be hospitalized. After many medical tests, she was treated for gastroenteritis.

Phoebe's recovered and is settled in her loving foster home. Yay!

We're so thankful that Phoebe's well, however, the cost of her recent care was 2k which is a very unexpected expense for our rescue.

We're asking for donations today and would be grateful for any donation amount if you’re able. (We're continuing to welcome several more very sweet dogs in need of homes.)

Using a computer, you may donate for Phoebe's recent care on our website.

Thank you, everyone, for your help and support.❤️

Incredibly sweet three-year-old Ella was an owner surrender and needed a place to call home. Almost overnight, she found a wonderful second chance and now each day her new family surrounds her with love.

Thank you, Janet, our adoption coordinator, for finding Ella a wonderful new life.

We are so sorry for your heartbreak, Jason.

Thank you for giving Sadie joy and love each day of her life with you. Though she developed several health complications over the last few years, you continued to surround Sadie with happy moments while faithfully tending to her needs. Sadie enjoyed the multiple daily walks, tasty snacks, and being recognized as the royal queen of her home.

Thank you for sharing Sadie's special behavior coming directly from her heart,

"She was also a nurse dog to Charlie when he was declining, she taught Finlay how to navigate the house when he went blind and she was inseparable with Skippy right up till the end. She helped Wallace learn how to be a dog after I took him as a foster fail from that horrible home in Oakland. Saying Sadie was special doesnʻt do her justice. She was the first of now four NorCal cockers that I have adopted. I miss her more than I can say but I am glad that she is no longer have to deal with all her health problems and that she is with her Daddy Michael once again."

Jason, letting her go at a time when her good days still outnumbered her bad ones was an act of true love. You fulfilled your promise to Michael to care for Sadie.❤️

Happy early heavenly 16th birthday to Sweet Sadie.

Run free, Sadie, and hold Jason's love close to you.

Zeke was dearly loved. The San Jose Shelter staff rescued him from the streets to give him a safe place for the night. Then, Michele, walked through the shelter doors to release him from his kennel, securely hold him, then, provide him with a foster home filled with comfort.

Janet, our adoption coordinator, expressed her gratitude by being so honored to care for him for several weeks.

His mom, Linda, brought happiness into Zeke's life with the gift of a second chance.Thank you, Linda, for giving him a sanctuary home where he experienced unimaginable compassion and love.

Zeke always shared his super sweet and calm disposition. One of his favorite occupations was following his person down a hallway and back or being a kitchen guest.

We needed to let Zeke go this week due to complications of fluid accumulation in his lungs.

Be in peace, sweet Zeke, and thank you for the all the joy you've given and your ever-present unconditional love.

We're sending our love to you, Linda.❤️

Seasons may change yet your support for our rescue remains.

And, we THANK YOU!

Pictured are Tammy and Otis, two very sweet dogs. Last summer, resilient Tammy underwent ACL surgery, and brave Otis had surgeries for fractures on both front legs. Both dogs have recovered and are living their very best happy dog lives.

We're so grateful for your financial support, compassionate messages and interactions for all of our dogs in need.

Thank you, Facebook family and friends.

Jerry (top, with his carrot, a very favorite) and Ben, both five years of sweetness, love sharing quiet times together.

They're dogs with boundless energy and transform everyday moments into hours of joy. They're a precious pair who share a deep bond for one another, love for other people, and are friendly with other canines.

Walks with Ben and Jerry become adventures in new discoveries while they'll need significant help practicing good leash skills and training to become good canine citizens.
(Ben is 40 lbs., and both dogs love to jump.)

From their heads to their paws, these two share their delightful personalities with their foster family. Their love for you would be forever and doubled in size.

Ben and Jerry would be so grateful for a forever home soon. Please read our adoption process and complete an application if you're able to give them a home:
