We’re taking a little break! Effective October 9, will be temporarily closed through at least early November while we give our pack some extra love and cuddles.

All lessons, adventures, training and communication will resume when we reopen.

Our reopening date is still TBD, but we’ll post here as soon as we know. Thank you for your patience and for being part of our community. We can’t wait to see you all again!

**Did you know California has almost no regulations for small in-home dog boarding or training facilities?**

There's no real state oversight for facilities like ours (home based, low quantity) — no required cleaning schedules, no set sanitation standards, no rules on what products you use or how often. Basically, it's left up to the individual business to decide what's "clean enough."

That gap is exactly why we hold ourselves to a higher standard than the law requires:

🧼 We sanitize kennels between every single dog
🧽 We deep-clean the entire kennel room weekly
🐾 We use vet-grade cleaners (not random household products) and actually follow proper contact times, not just a quick wipe-down
🛏️ We use primopads for comfort and cleanliness, not just hard plastic flooring
🧺 We wash our area rugs on hot weekly to keep everything fresh

This isn't just a job for us. It's a passion. We keep everything safe, clean, and comfy because we care deeply about the dogs in our care.

Pictured is Mama Maya! A rescue dog available for adoption through Calpaws K9 Rescue. She is gentle, quiet and pretty darn chill! Dog friendly, kid friendly, great on leash. ❤️

🐾 **NEW: Adventure & Enrichment Day Train!** 🐾

Tired of dog daycare that's just chaotic free-for-all playtime? Our Adventure & Enrichment Day Train is different. It is a structured program built around what dogs actually need: hiking, biking, swimming, tug, fetch, and scent work like nose work and rat games, all designed to satisfy natural drives while making real behavioral progress.

Training is woven into every session. We work on loose leash walking, e-collar recall, sit/down/place, muzzle conditioning, and tackling problem behaviors like jumping, leash reactivity, and pulling, all in partnership with you as the owner.

✅ Limited to just 4 dogs/day for individualized attention
✅ Dogs don't need to be dog-friendly to join
✅ Crate-comfortable dogs preferred (used for transport & rest)
✅ Includes pick-up (8–9 AM) and drop-off (2–3 PM) within our service area
✅ Structured rest built into every day for balanced behavior

💵 $125/dog/day (multi-dog household discounts available)
📅 Monday–Thursday, subject to availability

Serving Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills, Shingle Springs, Rescue, Placerville, Diamond Springs & Folsom.

Butter used to bolt out any open door the second no one was looking. Crossing streets. Beelining for leashed dogs. Blowing off recall. Not from fear but from opportunism. During her program, we've worked on clear reward/consequence communication through the e-collar, teaching her what the sensation means and how she controls turning it off and now she's living her best off-leash life: safe, sniffing, exploring, and actually listening. This is what successful e-collar training looks like, not suppression, but freedom with boundaries.

This kid is connecting the dots! Through free shaping, he's learning that calm engagement, not pulling, not jumping, not demand barking (his speciality), is the behavior that earns the reward.

Two very different lesson plans today. Miss Butter is diving into ecollar recall boot camp, and it's clear this girl is sharp as a tack. Meanwhile, tiny Billy is off to his first day of puppy preschool, full of confidence and already curious about everything around him. Both sweet as can be and great at working for their food!
