🗓️ Don’t Wait Until the 4th of July! Plan Ahead for Your Pets NOW! 🗓️
🇺🇸The 4th of July is just around the corner, and while it’s a time for celebration for us, it can be a highly stressful time for our furry family members. Veterinary clinics book up fast this time of year, and medication refills and travel documents take time.
Now is the time to reach out to your primary care veterinarian to prepare!
Here is what you should be thinking about this month:
💥 Firework Fear: If your pet suffers from noise anxiety, discuss calming strategies and request situational anxiety medications before the panic sets in.
🚗 Travel Anxiety: Planning a road trip or flight? Talk to your vet about options to reduce travel stress and keep them comfortable on the move.
✈️ Holiday Travel Requirements: If you are traveling next month, check on required vaccinations and health certificates. Some travel timelines require weeks of preparation!
💊 Medication Refills: Beat the rush and order your pet’s routine or situational holiday medications well ahead of time.
⚠️ Important Notice for Current Thrive Specialty Patients
If your pet is currently being managed by one of our Thrive specialty teams and will require a medication refill from us for the upcoming holiday, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
Advance Notice Required: Please allow 48 to 72 business hours for our team to process and fill all prescription requests.
Legal Compliance: To comply with Arizona state law, all medications must be filled directly by the specific specialty team managing your pet's care, ensuring a properly established veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) prior to dispensing. If refills are emergently needed and a doctor on your case is not available, your pet will be required to have an emergency exam to follow state regulations.
A friendly reminder: While Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists is always here for your 24/7 emergency needs, routine care, general anxiety management plans, and travel certificates should be handled by your trusted primary care veterinarian.
🎉Have a safe and wonderful summer!
