Our veterinary clinic will be closed Tuesday, July 7, from 12:00pm to 12:30 and Thursday, July 9, from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM for important staff training.

In honor of National Microchipping we want to discuss the importance of having your pet microchipped. 🐾
 
A microchip is permanent ID that goes beneath your pet’s skin and unlike a collar tag it cannot fall off or become difficult to read. 
Every microchip has a unique identification number which can be linked to your contact information and you can update the contact information as needed.
 
When a lost pet is taken to a shelter, humane society or clinic the pet is scanned for a microchip. If a microchip is located, using the microchips unique identification number the pet is reported as found to the microchip company and the owner is then contacted with the news and arrangements begin for reuniting the pet with their family.
 
Although all pets should wear collar tags imprinted with their name and owners phone number, only a microchip provides permanent identification that cannot fall off, be taken off or become difficult to read.
