It’s getting close to the New Year! If your pet needs medication to help keep them calm through this holiday, do NOT wait until last minute. Be proactive, plan ahead and call your veterinarian now 🐾 some other things to keep in mind for helping your pet stay calm is: a quiet and safe place, noise machines, thunder shirts, pheromone collars. Make sure microchip and tag information is up to date

Happy Monday from Winnie and Kai! 🐾 Did you know, the Shiba Inu is a Japanese dog breed that was originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits and birds. Their name loosely translates to “brushwood” which may refer to the difficult terrain they hunted on. They are small, but sturdy and muscular with a bold personality to match! They have a thick double coat and curly tail and their lifespan can range from 13-16 years. Shiba’s are intelligent and need mental stimulation and daily exercise to prevent boredom. They can also be quite vocal!

Our pets can’t speak, but their 💩 can tell us a lot about their health! F***l exams are essential in detecting intestinal parasites that could be living and thriving in your pets gastrointestinal tract 🪱 Some of the parasites we look for are: roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and giardia. Parasites can make your pet uncomfortable but can also lead to potentially more serious issues if left untreated. Some parasites can even be transmitted to people. We recommend that every cat and dog get a f***l exam at least once per year. For the best results, f***l samples should be no more than 24 hours old, and they should also be kept refrigerated if you can’t bring the sample in right away. If the sample is not handled correctly, the parasites could die and not be found during examination!
