After the long-awaited draw to see which city will host the 2026 Canine Woof Cup, we are ecstatic (albeit a little overwhelmed) to announce that the honor goes to…

BARKSVILLE!

Uhhh, yeah. So that’s something.

We mentioned we put our name in for consideration, but we never expected to actually get chosen.

It’s now up to us to organize an exceptional opening ceremony, perform the national anthem before the first match, and paint a mural that shows off Barksville’s rich history.

We now need all the help we can get to pull this off.

Although somewhat overshadowed by the far more popular World Cup, the Canine Woof Cup is undoubtedly the biggest sporting event of the dog year.
Maybe it would be better known if it didn’t directly coincide with FIFA’s copycat tournament every year.

But hey, tradition is tradition.

And it just wouldn’t feel right not having a Woof Cup once every 28 dog years.

It’s just a few days until the host city is announced…

Will it be New York? Will it be London? Paris?

The canine world is on the edge of its seat to find out.

And yes, Barksville did throw its name in the hat, but only for the free bag of treats.

Memorial Day weekend is almost here!

While we’re firing up the grill, the extra guests, loud noises, and backyard excitement can be a lot for our four-legged family members to handle. If you're celebrating at home, help your dog stay calm with these three quick prep tips:

1️⃣ Practice a ‘place’ command: Give them a designated boundary to relax on when the doorbell rings.
2️⃣ Set up a safe, quiet zone: Dedicate a room away from the commotion where they can unwind.
3️⃣ Watch for stress signals: Keep an eye out for yawning, lip-licking, or pacing, and give them a break early.

🎉 OR... let's be honest, your dog doesn't want to hang out at your BBQ anyway—they want to be at the Paw-ty! 🎉

Thank you so much for sharing this — it truly means the world to us. Reading about your boy's journey from a nervous, scared pup to the goofy, social love bug he became brought tears to our eyes.

Dawna and Megan remember him so fondly. He had such a big personality, and watching him come out of his shell — making friends at daycare, greeting staff with excitement instead of fear — was one of the most rewarding things we've gotten to be part of.

The truth is, you and your wife did the hard work. You gave him a safe home, you were patient with his fears, and you showed up for him every single day. We just got to be part of his village.

Two years wasn't nearly long enough, but what a two years they were. He was so deeply loved, and he knew it.

Thank you for trusting us with him. We're better for having known your family.

Happy International Chihuahua Day! 🐾

They might be small enough to fit in a tote bag, but anyone who knows a Chihuahua knows they have enough personality to fill a stadium. Today, we’re celebrating these "mighty mites" and their legendary spicy-yet-sweet spirits!

The Problem: The "Big Dog" Complex
The biggest challenge for Chihuahua owners isn't their size—it's their confidence. Chihuahuas often forget they weigh five pounds and try to "protect" their kingdom from the mail carrier, the neighbor’s Golden Retriever, or even a particularly suspicious-looking leaf. This can lead to a bit of over-excitement (and a lot of barking!) during their daily adventures.

The Solution: Small Body, Big Brain Enrichment
How do you channel all that "mighty" energy? Mental stimulation! Because they are highly intelligent and alert, Chihuahuas thrive when they have a "job" to do.

Puzzle Work: Use snuffle mats or small treat dispensers to let them "hunt" for their snacks.

Target Training: Teach them to touch their nose to your hand or a sticky note. It builds focus and helps redirect that "spicy" energy into a fun game.

Size-Appropriate Agility: A few low hurdles or a small tunnel can make them feel like the champions they truly are.
