The MarQueen hotel, as it were told, once served as residency to automobile engineers in the early 1900’s. These “doctors of motors” were brought in to provide Ford Motor Company with the finest engineering minds in the country. It is

Finding a lump on your pet can be concerning, but not every lump is cause for alarm.

Some masses are benign, while others may require treatment or further evaluation. Unfortunately, appearance alone cannot tell us what a lump is.

It's a good idea to have any new lump checked by your veterinarian, especially if it:
➡ Appears suddenly
➡ Continues to grow
➡ Changes in appearance
➡ Causes discomfort
➡ Interferes with normal movement

Early evaluation can help provide answers and may create more treatment options if intervention is needed.

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of hosting our second continuing education event of 2026: Oncology: When to refer and so much more ...

Erica Moore, DVM, DACVIM, discussed the diagnostic approach in cancer cases and how to determine when a patient is ready to see an oncologist. Additionally, we discussed common challenges associated with obtaining a diagnosis, how to approach sharing serious news with the patient's family, and how to approach comfort care when families are not inclined to seek an oncology consultation.

We’re proud to highlight Dr. Rebecca Harrod, one of our incredible emergency veterinarians here at MarQueen.

Recently featured in Fair Oaks Living Magazine, Dr. Harrod shared a glimpse into the experiences and moments that have shaped her both inside and outside of veterinary medicine.

As an emergency veterinarian, Dr. Harrod is there for pets and families during some of their most difficult moments. Her compassion, dedication, and commitment to helping others are part of what make her such a valued member of our team.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Harrod’s greatest joy is spending time with her three children and creating memories through travel, adventure, and new experiences together.

We’re grateful for the care she brings to every patient, client, and family she meets.
