The puppies are 3 weeks old! Their world is changing. They can see, hear and walk on all 4 paws. They have started “playing” which is chewing on each others heads. I have been introducing toys into the whelping box. Some they walk around on, some they walk over. Today I have introduced a potty pad. It’s the first step to potty training. Someone used it not shortly after I put it in. This is an important time to get more people interaction as well. I just love their puppy breath!! Next week they will be moved into the main living area of the house.

Puppy weights: Bogie 1 lb 10.5 oz, Carry 1 lb 10.3 oz and Liz 1 lb 11.8 oz

The puppies will be turning 3 weeks old tomorrow. They are getting up on all 4 paws now. They also react when I do loud claps so hearing is close.

It’s been a few days since I posted and it will be a few more days before I can post again. I have some unexpected family matters that are taking all my time right now.

The puppies turned 2 weeks old yesterday. Liz was the first to open her eyes followed by Carry. Bogie has some very small openings but hope to see his peepers soon. All 3 puppies are starting to make new sounds and attempting to get up on all 4 legs.

All 3 are over 1 pound now and Carry is making a run for top puppy in weight. As of this morning, Bogie weighed in at 1 lb 2.8 oz, Carry at 1 lb 4.4 oz, and Liz at Liz 1 lb 4.6 oz. I will provide more updates when I can.

Frankie gets her stitches out today. I don’t foresee any issues and bath is coming soon!

All 3 are over 1 pound now! Cary weighs in at 1 lb 2.2 oz, Liz at 1 lb 3.3 oz, and Bogie at 1 lb .5 oz.

Still sleeping, eating and now pooping 😂. Mom has been cleaning them and the dogs whelping box has been clean. Yesterday I found that their bedding gets dirty and I have to change it a few times a day. Mom still cleans but ….

All three of the pups are continuing to grow. Liz was 1 lb 2.1 oz this morning. Yesterday Cary hit 1 lb and this morning weighed in at 1 lb 1 oz. Last but not least is Bogie. He is so close to 1 lb. He weighed in at 15.4 oz. He should hit 1 lb no later than tomorrow and maybe by this evening.

There isn't a lot to see when puppies are first whelped. They nurse and sleep. Mom cleans up after them as well. They get handled and their ENS (early neurological stimulation) exercises and are introduced to different scents. Eyes will open in about a week. After that their hearing comes.

Weigh in this morning found Liz at 1 lb exactly! The other two are closing in.

My Golden Age of Hollywood puppies are a week old today. Mom is doing good. She spends some time outside the whelping box now but always has an eye or ear open just in case.

I like to see my puppies double in weight their first week. We had one puppy double. No surprise it was Lizzie. I have no concerns on weight gains.
