Play with your dog has to be fun and interactive for both of you. If every time your dog comes back to you you’re taking the toy or just throwing it then there’s no incentive for the dog to want to come and interact with you AND the toy. Growing your dog in the play department allows you to have an even higher level of a reward than just food.
