Puyallup Animal Rescue We are a nonprofit rescue group of volunteers in Pierce County, WA dedicated to finding permanent homes for cats and dogs.

We are a nonprofit rescue group dedicated to finding permanent homes for homeless dogs and cats in Pierce County, Washington. We do not operate out of a shelter, instead we rely on our network of foster homes to care for our animals until they are adopted. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS
The first step, if you are interested in adopting one of our dogs or cats, is to fill out and submit an adoption application. You can request an application by emailing us. A volunteer will contact you after it has been submitted to speak with you about your application and about the pet you are applying to adopt. If you rent, we require your landlord's permission to adopt a dog or a cat. We require a completely fenced yard to adopt a dog. All adopters must agree to and sign an adoption agreement. We do not adopt out pets as gifts unless the recipient is there to pick out the pet themselves. All pets are spayed or neutered before adoption. ADOPTION FEES
Kittens & adult cats are $175.00

Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, tested for FIV and Felv, and are given the vaccinations for Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici Virus, Panleukopenia, and Rabies (If 4 months of age or older). Dogs and Puppies are $300.00 with an additional $50.00 obedience training refundable deposit. When you complete an accredited obedience class with your new dog we will send you back the $50.00 deposit. Dogs and puppies are spayed or neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, and are given the vaccinations for Distemper, Parvo, and Rabies (If 4 months of age or older). ADOPTION EVENT LOCATIONS
Our rescue partners with the Petsmart in Sunrise Village located at:

Puyallup, WA 98373. Our adoptable cats and kittens are at the Sunrise PetSmart every day for potential adopters to meet with and visit in the cat room. Some of our adoptable cats stay in foster homes and so they are not available for viewing at PetSmart. Please check our Petfinder Pet List to see all of our cats that are available for adoption. Our adoptable dogs are in foster homes and they are brought to adoption events which are normally on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at the Sunrise PetSmart. Dogs are also brought to PetSmart's special adoption events. Please contact us and not PetSmart to verify adoption status if you are interested in a specific pet. VOLUNTEERING
We are a foster home-based adoption agency for our dogs and cats. We rely on our network of volunteers to care for the animals until they find permanent homes. If you would like to foster for us, please email us and request a foster application! Attention large breed lovers!

🐾 Meet Gumby (7-Year-Old Great Dane) Gumby is a handsome, soulful boy whose favorite things in life are a good meal and a great hug. He is an excellent listener, very obedient, and incredibly affectionate—if you want a giant lap dog to wrap his paws around you, Gumby is your guy. Health Note: In 2022, Gumby was diagnosed with Addison’s disease. Please don't let this scare you away! He is perfectly stable and wonderfully maintained on a simple routine: a monthly steroid injection and a daily prednisone pill. He handles his routine like a champ and lives a very happy, normal life.

🐾 Meet Pancake (8-Year-Old Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Mix) Pancake is the definition of a gentle giant. He has that classic livestock guardian heart—he is deeply kind, loving, and his gentle way of showing affection is by quietly guarding and protecting his people. He loves running around in a yard, gets along wonderfully with other animals, and absolutely loves people. Quirks: True to his breed, he does love to dig a good hole in the yard! He is also terrified of fireworks (but who isn't?), so he needs a safe, cozy indoor space during loud holidays.

Ideally, I would love to see them go to a home with a secure, fenced yard where Pancake can run (and maybe dig a little) and Gumby can lean in for his daily hugs. 🐾 Meet Kodiak (Kodi)! 🐻❤️ Your New Best Friend Is Waiting!

Kodiak, or Kodi for short, is a 5-month-old puppy with a big personality, a loving heart, and plenty of puppy energy! 🐶💙

This smart boy is already making great progress with his training! He’s doing wonderfully with his crate at night, learning his potty routine, and beginning to let his people know when he needs to go outside. He’s also working on his “sit” and “stay” commands and even practices waiting patiently for his food. 🦴👏

💕 A few things to love about Kodi:
🐾 Sweet, playful, and affectionate
🐾 Loves attention, cuddles, and playtime
🐾 Has been around kids, cats, and other dogs
🐾 Making great progress with crate and potty training
🐾 Smart and eager to learn
🐾 Still working on his puppy manners, including keeping all four paws on the floor!

Like any young pup, Kodi will need a family committed to continued training, socialization, exercise, and lots of love as he grows.

Abby is an adorable 8 year old, 15-pound girl looking for a loving place to call home. After the heartbreaking loss of her owner, she’s hoping to find a new family to give her all the love she deserves. 🐶💕

Abby is a professional cuddler who loves giving kisses, playing tug-of-war with her favorite knotted sock, and finding the perfect sunny spot for a cozy nap. She enjoys spending time outside and will happily remind you that going potty deserves a treat! 😉🦴

✨ A little about Abby:
🐾 8 years old and just 15 pounds
🐾 Spayed and up to date on vaccinations
🐾 Housebroken
🐾 Loves cuddles, kisses, and outdoor time
🐾 Can adapt to living with other dogs, though she may need time to warm up
🐾 Has some separation anxiety and needs a patient, understanding home

Abby would thrive in a quieter household, ideally with a retired person or couple who can give her the companionship and attention she craves. She can be nervous around unfamiliar people, so she’ll need a family willing to respect her boundaries and help her feel safe. She may chase cats and isn’t the best fit for a home with young, active children.

Abby has already experienced the loss of the person she loved most. ❤️ Let’s help her find a soft place to land and a family who will love her for the rest of her life.

Buster is a sweet 4 year old Min Pin/Italian Greyhound mix looking for his forever home! ❤️

He’s a well mannered little guy who is house trained, potty pad trained, knows basic commands, and is neutered and up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Buster is social and does well with kids and cats. He loves to play, is alert and curious, and is incredibly loyal to his people.

Buster is a wonderful companion with so much love to give and is ready to find a family who will love and cherish him for years to come. 🏡🐶

Willow Mae is a 1 year old, 34 lb Australian Cattle Dog mix looking for her forever home!

She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, housebroken, dog-friendly, and incredibly smart! 🧠❤️ Willow has lived with 4 dogs and a cat and loves being with her people. She’s a total cuddlebug who loves sleeping next to you and getting tucked under a blanket. 🥰

Mae West 🐾

She’s a 5-year-old Shepherd mix weighing around 40 lbs. She may look a little bigger in photos, but she’s a nice medium-sized girl!

She was adopted as a puppy and unfortunately lost her owner. Now Mae needs a new forever home.

She’s a little shy at first, but once she gets comfortable, she’s a sweet girl who enjoys being around her people. ❤️ She gets along well with kids, other dogs, and cats and is house-trained.

She has spent time both indoors and outside while her owner’s wife was at work and has had no issues in the home.

She’s hoping this next chapter will be her forever one. 🏡❤️

Meet Tessa 💚🐾

Tessa is a Shepard Lab mix around 6 months old. She had a rough start to life so she is very timid and takes a minute to warm up, but once she does you get to see her silly personality!

She warms up quickly to women, but is very hesitant around men. Her foster home is working on her confidence. She is currently in a house with multiple dogs, a cat and a kiddo.

Tessa is crate trained, mostly potty trained and learning basic commands. She does have the occasional “happy pee” accident!

Tessa needs a family that is willing to work on her confidence and have patience. She is still a puppy and very trainable.

👑 Meet Princess Didi (Dior)! 👑💕

This tiny girl may be under 10 pounds, but her personality is HUGE! At just 5 months old, Dior is still growing and is believed to be a Maltese/Havanese/Poodle mix.

Dior is incredibly sweet, loves to cuddle, and wants to be wherever her people are. She also has a playful side and LOVES zooming around the yard, digging, chewing on puppy-approved things, and soaking up the sunshine. ☀️🐾

She would do best with someone who is home most of the time and would absolutely love a gentle, playful doggy companion. She has become best friends with her foster brother, a gentle French Bulldog mix, and having another dog around has also helped her with potty training.

Dior is still very much a puppy, so she’ll need patience, supervision, continued potty training, and plenty of opportunities to play and burn off that puppy energy. She has done well with young children and cats but, like any puppy, will need supervision while she adjusts.

If you’re looking for a tiny girl with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart, Princess Didi might be your girl! 👑❤️
