We first posted these six pups two weeks ago in hopes that our community would come visit them and fall in love. But sadly, they are all still here at the shelter and all still waiting for someone to adopt them.

During the same time, these pups have seen lots of little dogs and special breeds quickly come and go from our kennels, with many eager adopters looking for anything other than large dogs.

These dogs deserve a life in a loving home. Please share this post and help us to connect them with a person, family, or organization who has a big heart for big dogs. Thank you for sharing and caring!

With the Labor Day weekend upon us, the shelter will be closed to the public on Saturday 9/5, Sunday 9/6, and Monday 9/7. We will be back to our regular operating hours of 11am to 4pm starting on Tuesday.

Another highly adoptable dog in need of a forever home! Meet Tank, a handsome black Lab boy with a big heart and plenty of energy!

Tank is dog-friendly and came into the shelter with his friend Georgia, after their owner passed in July. Tank loves life and is always ready for an adventure, but what really makes him special is his sweet, gentle nature. He's great on a leash and a true gentleman with everyone he meets. Whether he's out exploring or spending time with his people, Tank has so much love to give.

If you're looking for a happy, energetic Lab with a gentle soul and a friendly heart, Tank may be your perfect match!

Meet Axel, a big ol’ puppy dog who is looking for a forever home. He came to the shelter as a stray, and we are guessing this sweet happy guy is 1-2 years old.

Axel recently enjoyed an overnight break from the shelter with one of our volunteers, are here is his report card:

✅ no barking
✅ lots of playing fetch in the yard
✅ loves monkey stuffies
✅ learning how to walk on a leash
✅ enjoys exploring the house
✅ loves cuddles and tummy rubs
✅ generous with puppy kisses
✅ knows the command “sit”
✅ went potty outside

We think this guy deserves an A+ for his doggy night out - what do you think?!?

Beginning today, Metro Animal Services will no longer provide animal control and sheltering services to residents in the City of Milton; Milton's police officers will be providing these services within their city limits. If you are in the City of Milton and have an animal safety concern/nuisance, if you find a stray/injured/deceased animal, if you are missing your pet, or if you need to surrender an animal, then you will need to contact the Milton Police Department for help.
