Meet Draco! This curious young pup is ready to find his forever home, after his previous owners were moving unexpectedly and needed our help in adopting him to a loving family.

Draco is a 1.5 year old siberian husky mix, 45 pounds, and already neutered and microchipped. He is very dog-friendly and people-friendly, and came from a family with young children where he did great.

He is a perfect mix of playful and sweet, and ready to go home with you today! Come meet him at the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup anytime between 11am and 4pm, with no appointments needed for meet & greets. Let's make today be Draco's "gotcha day"!

It has been a fantastic week for dog adoptions at our shelter, and we are so grateful to each of you who opened your heart and home to a pup in need - including all of these sweet faces! In sheltering, there is nothing better than seeing dogs find loving homes, and seeing people find a loving companion 💙 Thank you to everyone who visited, donated, volunteered and adopted from our small community shelter!!!

The first group from the 47 cats seized last week from an apartment in Sumner are now ready for adoption - including these three kittens that are all believed to be between 4 to 6 months old. Our friends Catffeinated in downtown Puyallup have all three at their cafe right now... so whether you are looking for a cup of coffee or a cat to call your own, now is a great time to stop by their cafe!

We also just added multiple orange kittens and cats 🐾 as well as a few gorgeous torties 🐾 from the same residence to our adoption room at the shelter. After they were brought to the shelter by animal control last week, all of these cats received their first rounds of vaccinations as well as a spay/neuter; their adoption fees will also include a pet license and microchip. They are friendly and ready to meet you today!

When 47 cats come into a small community shelter all at once, there is a critical need for adoptions to happen - and to happen very quickly! And thank goodness for our friends at Subaru of Puyallup for their annual "Subaru Loves Pets!" adoption event, which was only three days after our huge intake of cats.

We had an incredible amount of community members visit the shelter and go home with a new family members to love on. Just look at all of these sweet faces that found forever homes! Thanks to the generosity of Subaru, a grant helped to ensure that each one of these cats received all of the care that they needed to go from abandoned, unwanted, or unhoused to adoption-ready 💙

On behalf of all of our staff and volunteers, THANK YOU so much for supporting our shelter and for showing us once again what a great community we serve!
