I have zero idea where Trixie learned how to roll. It wasn't from anyone here 😆
It's like she's 'Kung Fo Fighting' on her back 🤣 And now I just showed my age LOL
What was she rolling on you ask? A dehydrated worm of course 🤢

Thanks to our girl Jett and her bro Cody (& their Mom) for the Chewy gift card. With all the vet bills lately, this helps with the food bill for sure!

Our vet must be sick of seeing us by now! We've had everyone here in to visit her for one reason or another (except 2- Allie & Lou) within the past few months. Today Mack went in for a 4DX and bloodwork since he had a minor seizure at the end of last week for no apparent reason. No tick diseases and nothing significant on his bloodwork. So we'll just keep an eye on him for now. Trixie was due for her rabies vaccine so she came along for the ride.

Whew! That should be it for a couple months unless something else comes up (Paws Crossed here!)

Thanks so much to Patrick L & Amy D for their Zelle donations received today. We really appreciate any help since we're pretty much surviving on our supporter's generosity these days. Given the cost of things these days, owning a pet is a luxury endeavor apparently.

So while we're still reeling from Brie's passing, I was feeling a bit of 'too little too late' syndrome. I've decided to invest in getting some of our seniors checked out. Faith had bloodwork just a few weeks back (1 down). Today we had MJ in for a wellness visit (2 down). He gave a slight positive for lyme so we're starting doxy but other bloodwork was pretty typical for his age (14). Monday is Mack's appt (3 down). While I certainly don't have the funds, I definitely don't want anyone suffering from something preventable. In Brie's case, had we caught it sooner we MIGHT have been able to try and fix it. I figure we spent about $1k between tests, meds and cremation just for her.

If anyone would like to help, it would surely be appreciated. In a few days I'll need to order food too besides all these vet bills 😔

And then she was gone...

At 3a this morning, our girl Brie left us. She fought the good fight, but in the end her body had different plans - but it was on her terms.
We pulled Brie from Bowling Green, KY back in 2012 at about 6m of age. She's been a staple here ever since. Her bark was the loudest, her jaw the most misaligned, and she became a piranhna when it came to taking treats. Brie also loved sleeping in bed with Glenn the best, was perfect for baths and mani/pedis, and loved her pizza crust. She'd make us chuckle every night when she'd run into her crate while I was making everyone's dinner as if to say, ' This is where I'll wait for my dinner so as not to get in the way. I'm ready to eat now.".
Just 1 wk ago we took her to the vet because something was 'off'. Bloodwork showed her liver were off the charts but she was still eating/drinking and jumping up on the couch without issue, etc so we just added meds and giving subcue fluids 2-3 times a day to help heal her liver. Then 2 days ago everything changed. She was losing weight, no longer eating, stopped jumping on the couch, started vomiting some, and just going out for a p*e was an effort because she was just so weak. Yesterday was her worst and Glenn and I talked about making the dreaded appt. She beat us to it though. Like her personality, it was gonna be on her terms, next to Glenn, in the place she knew best.
We know she'll find the others before her from our home in the next world. We just hope it's filled with cheese, bacon, pizza and peanutbutter. We will miss you Brie-bee. 💔

Hope you all enjoy your day!

UPDATE: Of course Brie's issue couldn't be cut & dry 🙄 It's her liver that's the problem according to her bloodwork. Her numbers are off the charts. So we left with 3 different meds and the vet wants to retest in a few days to see if they make a difference. She put her on a hepatic food as well (at $150/bag - shoot me now!). If the meds & food do nothing, she'd like her to get an ultrasound. Don't know what that costs & don't wanna know. Let's hope the meds help -- paws crossed...

Thanks to Leo and his family for sending us a donation tonight via Zelle. The vet bills are killing us lately so we appreciate the help. Give that boy some cheese or bacon from us 🥰
