🐾 Calling all young animal lovers! 🐾
Camp Fur-Ever Friends is back this summer at Tails of Hope in Pittsford, VT — and registration is open now!

This isn't your average summer camp. Campers spend their days surrounded by shelter animals, hands-on activities, and expert educators who help bring out their inner animal advocate.

But here's the best part: campers don't just learn about animals — they help care for them! Every craft made and treat decorated goes straight to the animals in our shelter.

By the end of the week, your camper won't just have had an unforgettable summer... they'll have made a real difference in the lives of the animals at Tails of Hope. 🐶🐱

Every tiny paw deserves a big future.

As the days grow longer and spring takes hold, something beautiful, and busy, begins at RCHS. Tiny paws arrive. Lots of them.

In 2025 you helped us care for
342 kittens and 124 puppies.

Each one got everything they needed to grow, thrive, and find their forever home, thanks to you!

This year, we're asking for your help to do it again.

The real work of saving lives happens year-round, and your ongoing support makes it possible. 💛

Meet Rosco, he's been waiting for someone just like you! 🐶

Sit. Stay. Fetch. Repeat. This guy doesn't miss.

At 3 years old, this Husky-Pit mix is as stunning as he is smart! Those eyes alone will stop you in your tracks. Intelligent and motivated, Rosco picks up new skills like it's nothing. In exchange for your time and heart (and maybe a tennis ball or two), he'll give you absolutely everything he's got.

Rosco knows what he likes. He's dog selective and does best with dogs his own size, no small sidekicks for him. He has a female dog friend right here at the shelter, and the two of them do amazing together. If you have a medium-to-large lady dog at home, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

He's ready for his person. Could that be you? 🐾

May is Microchip Your Pet Month!

Microchips are fast, safe, and effective tools that help connect you to your pet no matter where they roam. Any vet clinic, rescue, or animal shelter can scan your pet and know who they belong to.

Roughly one in three pets will go missing at some point in their lives. Without a microchip, only about 22% of lost dogs brought to shelters are reunited with their owners. For cats, the difference is even more dramatic. Microchipped cats are more than 20 times more likely to be returned home than those without one.
Microchips help where collars and tags cannot. Tags fade, collars break or slip off, and neither can survive every adventure your pet might find themselves on. A microchip stays put for life.

A microchip is a tiny implant, about the size of a grain of rice. It is placed just under your pet's skin, typically between the shoulder blades. The procedure is quick as a routine vaccine. The chip carries a unique ID number linked to your contact information in a pet recovery database, and because it has no battery, it lasts your pet's entire lifetime.

One important reminder: a microchip is only as useful as the contact information behind it. Keeping your registry record up to date, especially after a move or a phone number change, is the single most important thing you can do to make sure the chip can do its job.
