A mobile mansion for a treasured little cockatiel 🥰!

When in hotels, this is the foldable travel aviary Lola has fromCelltei so that she has a safe space to be in if I need to go out for a bit or if the hotel are less than enthusiastic about their feathered guest. Having said that, most hotels we’ve stayed at are thrilled at their novelty guest. It’s probably because they have extraordinary soundproofing 😁

The making of a design. Tasks expand as time allows”, the design has finally arrived just three weeks before phoenix Landing Foundation’s Biennial Wellness Retreat ( https://www.phoenixlanding.org/retreat.html ). It is still time to attend, check it out! You will meet great and knowledgeable parrot people and learn a lot! We promise.

Over the years, we have joined Phoenix Landing to many bird ecotours - Peru, Brazil, Uganda, Bolivia, and Costa Rica and have the privilege to meet many devoted field scientists and researchers. “Pure joy” is when you see and “hear” macaws and parrots play and fly in a flock.

We asked the speakers coming to the Wellness Retreat last September their favorite colors and birds/animals. All will be incorporated in this functional front carrying bag for safe travel. Still tuned! We’d better hurry, the click is ticking fast…. Yes, we can make human bag but animals take priority 🙂!

Ready for more perches? Just received a new shipment. To get volume discount on shipping, we are buying 3 times more than usual. This is how Florida’s dragonwood branches look like.

Freshly cut branches need to be dried for months (or the cut woods will crack) and fumigated before being shipped to us.

After we dry the branches for many more weeks , we cut, debark (but often leaving the cambium cell layer as some parrots love to peel it - yes you , the Greys), sand and clean, drill and attach the stainless steel hanger bolts ( we now use only stainless steel) and fender washers, and the wingnuts.

Dragon woods is a natural wood with curves and variation in thickness. It is hard but not heavy and very durable for the bird carriers we make.
