We’re celebrating National K-9 Officers Day a day late because we couldn’t let the opportunity pass to recognize some very special four-legged heroes! 🐕‍🦺🇺🇸

From their incredible training to their dedication to their handlers, K-9 officers are truly amazing dogs. 💙

Today, we’re sending extra love to all the K-9 officers out there! 🦴🐾

Fun Fact Friday!

Did You Know What Standard Schnauzers Were Originally Bred For? 👀

Before they became the lovable, bearded companions we know today, Standard Schnauzers were hardworking farm dogs in Germany!

They were bred to be an all-around working dog, helping farmers with a variety of jobs:

🐀 Catching rats & other vermin around barns and farms
🏡 Guarding the farm & homestead
🐄 Helping watch livestock
🚨 Alerting their families to strangers or anything unusual
🐕 Taking on all kinds of farm jobs

So if your Schnauzer thinks they need to supervise everything you do…
Just remember: it's in their job description! 😂❤️

Louisiana heat is no joke! 🥵

When temperatures rise, our pets feel it too. Even if your pet LOVES being outside, it’s important to give them plenty of fresh water, shade, and a cool place to rest. 💦🌳❄️

And remember — hot pavement can burn those precious paw pads! 🐾🔥

As we head into another hot weekend, take a few extra minutes to make sure your furry family members are staying cool and comfortable. ❤️

🦴 Happy Joints, Happy Pets! 🐾

Joint health isn’t just something to think about when your pet gets older!

Dogs and cats of all ages can experience joint discomfort due to things like injury, genetics, activity level, weight, or certain conditions.

Keep an eye out for signs such as:

🐾 Limping or favoring a leg
🦴 Stiffness or difficulty getting up
🚶 Changes in how they walk or run
🛋️ Hesitating to jump or climb stairs
🎾 Less interest in playing
😕 Acting uncomfortable when moving

Keeping your pet at a healthy weight, providing regular exercise, and having routine veterinary checkups can all help support healthy joints. ❤️

🐾Wellness Wednesday! 🐾

A healthy pet starts with preventative care! 🩺 Regular yearly wellness exams help us keep an eye on your pet’s health and catch potential problems early.

🩸 We now also offer blood work with yearly wellness appointments! Blood work can give us a closer look at what’s going on inside your pet and help us catch changes that may not be visible during an exam. Blood work is an additional cost and can be done with or without the yearly exam.

And we’re making it easier to fit their wellness care into your busy schedule! ✨
