Hot pavement can burn more than you think. ☀️🐾

As temperatures rise, sidewalks, asphalt, and even concrete can quickly become hot enough to injure your pet’s paw pads. If the ground feels too hot for the back of your hand after a few seconds, it’s too hot for your pet’s feet too.

To help protect your pets:
• Walk during cooler morning or evening hours
• Stick to shaded or grassy areas when possible
• Watch for limping, licking paws, or redness after walks
• Always bring water on outings

Myrtle and Caleb say: “Stay hydrated!” 💧

We may have had a little cool front roll through, but warmer days are already on their way back—and with summer adventures kicking off, hydration becomes just as important for our pets as it is for us.

Dogs and cats lose moisture faster in heat than many people realize. Panting (in dogs) and reduced drinking (in both cats and dogs when stressed or hot) can quickly lead to dehydration, especially during play, walks, travel, or outdoor time. Cats are naturally low-thirst drinkers, so they often need extra encouragement through fresh water access and wet food options.

A few simple ways to help:
• Always provide fresh, cool water in multiple spots
• Offer shaded rest areas during outdoor time
• Add water to meals or offer wet food for cats
• Bring portable water on walks or outings
• Watch for early signs like lethargy, dry gums, or excessive panting

A little prevention goes a long way in keeping summer safe and comfortable for your pets. 🐾💙

Meet Mable 💕 a 10-week-old, tri-colored, long-haired cutie who came in for her new puppy visit weighing just 1.8 lbs!

We’ll be honest…we were all guessing the same breed at first glance, but we were quite suprised! 😂

Mable did amazing for her first visit and has already stolen all of our hearts. We love getting to be part of these early puppy milestones and helping set them up for a healthy, happy life. ❤️💙
