Once there was a curious little boy who wondered if the tree in front of his house was hollow. After great research, surveying the tree with a flashlight and contingency planning, a strategy was crafted. With the supervision of his big brother the boy climbed up and carefully lowered himself into the tree. Mission accomplished! He inspected the interior of the tree with pride, having fed his curiosity to fulfillment he was ready to be lifted out. When the time came to be lifted out of the tree, via the safety rope secured around his waist, he found that he was unable to get out. He struggled with his own cowboy boots that prevented him escaping. Terrified, his big brother pulled, jerked, yanked the boy would not budge. Defeated, they had to get Dad involved. He came to the realization that a chainsaw was the answer. At first the plan was to take the entire tree down with the boy still inside. Sure, it would be a big bump, but he would be free. After all, that tree needed to be removed anyway so why not kill two birds with one stone? Mother intervened and a better plan was presented, afterall this was her baby boy we're talking about. A piece of rebar was hammered into the tree trunk for the boy to stand on and Dad cut a hole at the base of the tree. The boy was free and a lesson was learned. Much like life, sometimes we find ourselves in difficult situations no matter how well we plan. However, The Father is always watching over us and when we rely on Him, we can pull ourselves out of any holes we find ourselves in.

The importance of round pen ground work - a nugget of knowledge with Mr. Jeff!

Whether you’re gaining a horses trust or greasin up the wheels after an extended stay in the stalls, ground work importance cannot be overstated!

We can apply this same idea to the time we spend with the Lord reading scripture. Whether we are just coming to know Him or have had a relationship with Jesus for awhile, it’s imperative to spend time with Him in His Word!

Reminds me of this scripture:
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

Big things happening at the Hollow Tree Ranch!
While some things change, here are a few things that remain:

1. Baby J is still a force to be reckoned with
2. Horses give immaculate side-eyes
3. Mr. Jeff gets the job done
4. Jesus is unchanging (Hebrews 13:8)

We are beyond excited to see how these projects turn out! Have a blessed rest of y’all’s week!

Times like these still exist. Come find them at Hollow Tree Ranch!

Philippians 4:4 reads “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.”
Whether we are mucking stalls or riding trails, we are beyond thankful for the grace of the Lord for another day stewarding His creation.

Have a blessed week!

KEYLESS. FOBLESS. Push to start on the ol’ Ford 4000 🤠

A broken key stuck in the “on” position left us having to get creative with this machine. An unexpected obstacle resulted in an awesome new addition to this ol’ boy.

This got me thinking about how the Lord works in our own lives. Sometimes a mistake we make or an experience we have is just the right kick to get back on the narrow path towards Him. Reminds me of this scripture:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭

The Lord looks inwardly at us, and knows us deeply. He is trustworthy and has unsearchable understanding!

We had a great group of young ladies join us for the HTR clinic! Even though the original date got rained out, we still had a great turnout. During the clinic we covered barrels, poles, roping, and more. Such a fun time! Thank you Maddisyn Farmer for helping to put this together and doing such a great job working with everyone.
