Once there was a curious little boy who wondered if the tree in front of his house was hollow. After great research, surveying the tree with a flashlight and contingency planning, a strategy was crafted. With the supervision of his big brother the boy climbed up and carefully lowered himself into the tree. Mission accomplished! He inspected the interior of the tree with pride, having fed his curio

sity to fulfillment he was ready to be lifted out. When the time came to be lifted out of the tree,via the safety rope secured around his waist, he found that he was unable to get out. He struggled with his own cowboy boots that prevented him escaping. Terrified, his big brother pulled, jerked, yanked the boy would not budge. Defeated, they had to get Dad involved. He came to the realization that a chainsaw was the answer. At first the plan was to take the entire tree down with the boy still inside. Sure, it would be a big bump, but he would be free. After all, that tree needed to be removed anyway so why not kill two birds with one stone? Mother intervened and a better plan was presented, afterall this was her baby boy we're talking about. A piece of rebar was hammered into the tree trunk for the boy to stand on and Dad cut a hole at the base of the tree. The boy was free and a lesson was learned. Much like life, sometimes we find ourselves in difficult situations no matter how well we plan. However, The Father is always watching over us and when we rely on Him, we can pull ourselves out of any holes we find ourselves in.

KEYLESS. FOBLESS. Push to start on the ol’ Ford 4000 🤠

A broken key stuck in the “on” position left us having to get creative with this machine. An unexpected obstacle resulted in an awesome new addition to this ol’ boy.

This got me thinking about how the Lord works in our own lives. Sometimes a mistake we make or an experience we have is just the right kick to get back on the narrow path towards Him. Reminds me of this scripture:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭

The Lord looks inwardly at us, and knows us deeply. He is trustworthy and has unsearchable understanding!

We had a great group of young ladies join us for the HTR clinic! Even though the original date got rained out, we still had a great turnout. During the clinic we covered barrels, poles, roping, and more. Such a fun time! Thank you Maddisyn Farmer for helping to put this together and doing such a great job working with everyone.

Meet Lizzy!

We’re excited to welcome Lizzy back to Hollow Tree Ranch this summer! Lizzy grew up riding right here at the ranch and has spent years developing her horsemanship skills from the arena to the show ring. Now home from college, she’ll be helping with riding lessons and lending a hand around the ranch.

Lizzy has a natural talent for teaching and does an amazing job helping riders of all ages build confidence, improve their horsemanship, and have fun along the way. Whether you’re brand new to horses or looking to advance your skills, you’ll love learning from her!

Be sure to say hello when you see her around the barn—we’re lucky to have her back for the summer! 🤠🐴
