We’re excited to launch our new Paws & Promote program! A way for CLASS to connect with the amazing local businesses in our community!
Each month, we will select a local business that has reached out to participate in the program and invite them to visit the shelter. Our featured business will get a behind-the-scenes tour, meet some of our pups, snap a few photos, and tell us all about what they do and how they serve our community. We will have a special table in our lobby that will have photos and all the information about your business for our visitors to see!

We’ll create a special Paws & Promote Business Spotlight and share it on our page, introducing your business to our followers and giving you a shoutout. All we ask in return is that you share the spotlight post with your followers, too!
It’s all about local businesses supporting local organizations and building connections!

Meet Skyler, the little deaf puppy who doesn’t know he’s different!

Skyler is a 14 week old, 22 pound possible Lab/Aussie/Shepherd mix who is just a happy and all smiles kind of guy. He may not be able to hear the world around him, but that has not stopped him from enjoying it! Skyler is playful, curious and always ready to see what comes next.

He is also one smart puppy! Skyler is already learning how to communicate with his people and does a fantastic job of making eye contact. He knows sit and is getting the hang of wait and stay. He is very treat motivated, so he is eager to learn and has already shown us just how much potential he has.

When Skyler isn’t busy learning, he is busy being a typical energetic puppy! He loves playing with other dogs, tossing toys around, and going for walks. He is doing well walking on the leash, rides great in the car and is almost potty trained. Then there is the kiddie pool, which might just be his favorite thing of all. Give Skyler some water to splash around in and he is one happy boy!

We suspect Skyler will grow into a medium sized dog, but his personality is already plenty big. His deafness simply means he will need a family who is willing to communicate with him using hand signals and positive reinforcement. In return, they will get an incredibly sweet, smart and playful puppy who is ready to learn everything life has to offer.

Skyler doesn’t need his family to focus on what he can’t do. He needs them to see everything he can do. And judging by this little guy so far, that is going to be a whole lot! 🐾🐾💜

Meet Beans, the Adorably Bratty Little Guy!

Beans is a 2 year old 15 pound Yorkie/Schnauzer mix who looks innocent enough to fool you… for approximately 5 seconds.

This little guy is basically a 15 pound tornado with legs. He’s high energy, easily excitable, and always looking for his next opportunity to cause a little chaos. Walks? Absolutely. But don’t expect a peaceful stroll at first. Beans pulls, zigzags, and must investigate everything for the first few minutes.

Then there’s playtime. Beans gets the zoomies and has apparently never heard of personal space. He will run, bounce, and even launch himself off you like you’re a human trampoline. It seems that he is convinced he’s a stunt dog!

Other animals? Beans would prefer you keep those pesky roommates away. He wants to chase cats and isn’t interested in making dog friends, so he’d do best as your one and only.

With people, however, this brat is actually a sweetheart! He loves attention, playing tug with toys, walks, and being wherever his people are. He’s also happy to climb into your lap for some affection… when he isn’t busy conducting his next important investigation.

Beans was surrendered because his previous owner was away from home too much. He does have separation anxiety and can be quite the barky little guy when left alone, so he needs a home where someone is around more often. He seems to be potty trained, but he’d much rather go for a walk than simply hang out in the yard.

Beans is sweet, hilarious, energetic, opinionated, and just the right amount of ridiculous. He’s definitely not the easygoing, low maintenance type. But if you’re looking for a tiny sidekick with a giant personality and absolutely zero chill, Beans is your guy! 🐾🐾💜

Some dogs leave a little bigger hole in our hearts when they go, and Enzo is definitely one of them.

After 10 months with us and a few homes that just weren’t quite the right fit, our sweet boy Enzo finally found his person. And this time, it was the perfect match!

His new mom says he is perfect and can’t believe he spent so long at the shelter. We agree! We never understood why Enzo was overlooked for so long. He was so loving, happy, and always ready to make us smile.

But maybe he wasn’t being overlooked. Maybe he was just waiting for her.

And now, he doesn’t have to wait for anything anymore. He has a mom who thinks he’s perfect, a home where he is loved and spoiled, and the life we always hoped he would find.

As much as we loved having our goofball Enzo with us, there’s something pretty special about watching a dog finally find the person who was meant to be theirs. 🐾🐾💜

🤩💜 We want to give a HUGE and heartfelt thank you to Foam One-One for an incredibly generous donation to our shelter! 💜🤩

Our old insulation had started falling down and was badly in need of replacement. Foam One-One stepped up for the removal of the old insulation and the installation of spray-in foam insulation.

They generously donated all of the materials, labor, time, and expertise needed to complete the job, at NO cost to the shelter!!

This was a significant donation that will make a lasting difference for our facility and the animals in our care. The new insulation will help keep our shelter better insulated and more comfortable, while also allowing us to put the money we would have spent on this project directly toward caring for the animals.

We are incredibly grateful for businesses like Foam One-One that see a need in their community and choose to step up and help. Your generosity and hard work mean so much to us, and we truly cannot thank you enough!

Meet Baby, a petite pup who’s proof that good things come in small packages!

Nobody puts Baby in a corner, and this petite girl certainly isn’t interested in sitting on the sidelines! At 9 months old and just 25 pounds, Baby is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix with a whole lot of personality packed into a little body.

Baby is one of those dogs who makes it easy to fall in love with her. She adores people and is happy to accept affection from everyone she meets, kids included! She’s also dog friendly and loves having friends to run and wrestle with. She hasn’t shown much interest in cats and prefers to give them their space.

Baby loves to play with toys, too. Give her some toys and room to run, and she’ll happily entertain herself with zoomies and puppy antics. Although she has puppy energy and wants to play a lot, Baby also loves to slow things down and cuddle up with her people.

Leash walks are a different story. Baby is still learning that the leash is meant for walking, not for taking a dramatic belly rub break. She’ll often plop herself down, roll over, and patiently wait for some pets instead. But tell her she’s headed to the yard to play with her friends, and suddenly she’s perfectly happy to walk along!

Baby’s puppy side definitely comes out when she gets excited! She may bounce around and get a little jumpy when she’s having too much fun, but she’s a good listener and does well when redirected to a toy. She’s also doing great with her potty training, rarely going in her kennel, which is a pretty impressive accomplishment for such a young girl!

There’s a lot to love about Baby. She’s sweet, cuddly, playful, and just plain fun. With the right family by her side, this little Baby is sure to grow into something pretty special. 🐾🐾💜

Meet Lily, the pup with little legs ready for adventure!

At just 20 pounds and 1 year old, Lily is the perfect sized Dachshund mix and an absolute joy to have around. One look into her beautiful brown eyes and you’ll notice the prettiest little blue specks mixed in, making her even more unique!

Lily came to us because she had been forced to live outside, and her owners wanted something better for her. We think she’s more than deserving of a life where she gets to be part of the family. Lily has so much love and personality to give, and she deserves a family who will make her feel like she truly belongs.

She’s the perfect blend of playful and laid back, making her a wonderful little companion for just about anything. Lily loves getting out to explore, whether that means strolling through the neighborhood, hitting the hiking trails, or tagging along to a pup friendly establishment. She is an absolutely amazing leash walker, well behaved, friendly with strangers, and simply grateful to be included. There’s something so sweet about the way she happily trots along beside you, just excited to be out experiencing the world.

When it comes to playtime, Lily has plenty of personality! She loves running and wrestling with her smaller and medium sized dog friends. She also likes to get them moving with a good game of chase. You’ll often find her zooming circles around them because this girl’s little legs are fast! She also loves splashing around in kiddie pools and would happily join you for trips to the river to cool off. She hasn’t shown much interest in befriending bigger dogs, though.

Lily is wonderful with kids and would make an incredible little best friend for a kiddo. She’s fun, playful, and always up for being part of the action, but she also knows how to enjoy the quieter moments. When the adventures are over, Lily is perfectly happy to lounge around, soak up cuddles, and simply relax with her people.

For a girl who spent her first year of life outdoors, Lily makes being an inside dog pretty easy. She’s potty trained, has good house manners, and appreciates being cozy and comfortable indoors.

Lily has already spent enough time on the outside looking in. Now she’s hoping for a family who will take her along on adventures, play with her, cuddle her at the end of the day, and make her feel like she belongs. 🐾🐾💜

🐾🐶💜 Happy National Dog Day! 💜🐶🐾

Our shelter pups are ready to celebrate… with belly rubs, squeaky toys, and most of all, forever families!

Each of them has so much love to give and is just waiting for their chance to shine. The best way to honor this day is by opening your heart and home to one of our amazing dogs! Adopt, foster, or share their stories so they can find the homes they deserve.

A year and two months after arriving at CLASS, our sweet and sassy Marigold finally got her happily ever after!

Marigold is a special girl who needed a special home. She wasn’t a fan of other cats or dogs, and she had all the typical calico sass. But underneath that sass was a sweet girl waiting for the right person to understand her.

That person turned out to be Mrs. Carol.

We are so lucky to have an amazing family who volunteers every single evening to walk our dogs and give our cats some love and attention. Mrs. Carol is one of those volunteers, and she has always been especially drawn to the cats. She loved Marigold from the very first day she met her, but at the time she wasn’t in a place to bring an animal home. When she was finally ready, she knew exactly who she wanted.

She chose Marigold! 💜

And now, Marigold is officially Molly and is living her absolute BEST life. She’s being pampered, adored, and running the household like the queen she always knew she was. 👑😻

Meet Dexter, aka Big Dex, the master of taking it easy!

Dexter is a big sweetheart who has absolutely no interest in living life in the fast lane! At around 2 years old and 80 pounds, this handsome guy is possibly a Golden Retriever and Anatolian Shepherd mix. Whatever his mix, one thing is certain, Dexter is incredibly sweet and wonderfully laid back.

Forget the hustle, because Dexter has discovered the finer things in life. Leisurely strolls, plenty of affection, snacks and absolutely no unnecessary rushing.

His mornings are when he really gets things going. Dexter greets his people with happy hops, little boops to your hands for pets and the occasional playful jump or two. Once he has gotten his morning excitement out of his system, he is ready to settle into the good life.

And Dexter takes “leisurely” very seriously. He is phenomenal on a leash and has exactly one speed: slow. He likes to take his time, enjoy the scenery and never worry about getting anywhere in a hurry. Even treats are approached with the same relaxed attitude. Sometimes he is simply too comfortable to get up for one and would prefer that you bring it to him.

Somewhere along the way, Dexter earned the nickname “Roll-A-Dex,” and honestly, it fits. This guy has expensive taste. He likes his walks slow, his days peaceful, his people close and his treats delivered with minimal effort on his part. Big Dex has figured out that life is pretty sweet when you take your time and enjoy it.

He also seems to be potty trained and is an incredibly easygoing companion. He is perfectly happy hanging out with his people, soaking up some love and enjoying a quiet day.

Dexter seems to have had limited exposure to other dogs. He does get excited when he sees one and may act like he wants to play. Once he actually meets them, though, he can become uncomfortable and prefers to do his own thing. Because of that, he may be happiest as the only dog in the home for now.

If you are looking for a big, gentle sweetheart who would rather stroll than sprint and lounge than hustle, Dexter may be your guy! 🐾🐾💜
