Jaguar belongs to Maggy, a longtime member of the Napa Printing, Design Studio & Mail Center team and the person who helps bring so many of Napa Humane's printing projects to life.

Jaguar was found on Mare Island as a kitten and has been part of Maggy's family ever since. He's snuggly, a little picky and demanding (their words, not ours ๐Ÿ˜‚), and enjoys a game called "bowling for treats," which involves chasing treats tossed down the hallway.

And now Jaguar has taken on a new challenge: earning a spot in the 2027 Napa Humane Pet Calendar!

At just 8 months old, this very handsome Cane Corso came to Napa Humane for what his family expected would be a routine neuter.

But during Shadowโ€™s pre-surgical exam, our veterinary team discovered something unexpected: a hernia.

Fortunately, our team was able to repair it during the same procedure, saving Shadowโ€™s family the stress and expense of another surgery while making sure this gentle giant got the care he needed.

Large dogs like Shadow require extra resources and extra hands to safely provide their care. Thanks to the support of our community, weโ€™re able to keep these surgeries affordable while giving every patient the same exceptional care and compassion.

And Shadow? Weโ€™re pretty sure he provided our team with an equally generous supply of smiles. ๐Ÿพ

For nine years, Maya served as DogTrekker's beloved Director of Barketing, joining the team on adventures big and small. With her soft eyes and wagging tail, she welcomed everyone, human and hound, and had a way of making the people around her a little happier simply by being there.

In her memory, Napa Humane and DogTrekker are proud to introduce ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ฒ๐š ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ as part of this yearโ€™s Pet Photo Contest.

The award celebrates dogs who bring that same kind of joy to their own communities. Maybe theyโ€™re a therapy dog who comforts others, the unofficial greeter at your workplace, a regular at the neighborhood coffee shop who knows everyone, or simply the dog next door who never fails to make someone smile.

Recently, a client left us a note that included a few words that stuck with us:

โ€œWe are so lucky to have you in our town.โ€

Then, not long after, our team was out together for a meeting. When the person helping us realized we were from Napa Humane, he said almost exactly the same thing: how lucky Napa is to have us.

Hearing it once meant a lot. Hearing it again, completely unexpectedly, stopped us in our tracks a little.

Because we feel pretty lucky, too. Lucky to do this work, lucky to care for your pets, and lucky to be part of a community that believes in what we do.

Thereโ€™s a whole lot of love behind the care we provide. ๐Ÿงก

We know that leaving your pet in someone elseโ€™s hands can be hard. But if your pet is spending time with our clinic team, you can be pretty sure theyโ€™re getting plenty of extra love and attention along the way.

Sometimes that means a reassuring scratch, a little extra snuggle, or apparently letting a patient get this close. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Because caring for our patients means more than providing great veterinary care. We want them to feel safe and cared for while theyโ€™re with us, too.

And honestly, we wouldnโ€™t have it any other way. ๐Ÿพ

Meet CAT, our August calendar star!

When CAT joined his family in 2023, he was seven years old and had already lived in two different homes. His new family had been without a cat since losing their beloved orange tabby, Garfield, and when CAT came along, they knew it was time.

Today, CAT is very much at home. โค๏ธ

He spends his days napping wherever he pleases, watching birds in the backyard, hanging out with the family during TV time, and offering nose-to-nose affection when the mood strikes. He also has some strong opinions about scratching the carpet instead of his scratching posts.

CATโ€™s family appreciates Napa Humane for providing services at fair, accessible prices and helping make essential care available to more pets and the people who love them.
