Hey BDD friends! Did you know that Penelope the Chihuahua’s Dad is a fantastic musician? His band Arizona Bay is playing at 2:00pm today at the Morganton library. Friendships are made at BDD. Come join us!

“Roll call”
I’m really only featuring this training exercise because usually I see trainers who use aversive methods featuring these kinds of exercises on their pages. These pups have learned that staying down is just as rewarding as coming forward, so there is no need for “corrections”. When the dogs do make “mistakes” (we humans call it a mistake, but to the dog it’s just a logical way to get what they want), we simply show them where to get reinforcement - on the mat!
This exercise is great for multi-dog households, and just in general the pups are learning that there is no need to seek reinforcement because it will come to them! They are learning to calmly watch other dogs get treats, and are learning that relaxing can be rewarding.

I don’t have much time to post on social media, and wish I could dedicate more time to writing about the benefits of Flower Essences for animals.
This remedy, Abandonment and Abuse, is a daily remedy in our household. We have seen such profound change in our trio of rescue pups, and I know that this remedy and several others have supported them as we work through a variety of challenges. I will try to share more of Green Hope’s helpful blog posts.
If you have a rescue animal, consider that abandonment is traumatic, and that even if you don’t notice obvious behavioral signs, the wounds can be deep.
