Bittersweet adoption update ❤️🐶 It's clear that Rico lived an incredible life surrounded by love.

"I adopted Rico from the Milwaukee Campus in December of 2015 when he was 3 years old. I remember seeing him and just knew he was meant to be my dog. And the next 10.5 years were the happiest and best years of my life with him by my side. On Monday, July 20, 2026, I lost my sweet boy suddenly to heart failure.
He was always the happiest boy. He loved to go for walks, eat lots of treats, and gave the best cuddles.
I just wanted to thank the Wisconsin Humane Society for caring for my boy until he found his way into my life all those years ago. Who knew something so small could have the biggest impact on my life.
He had a great 13.5 years with his sister and me. I’ll love and miss him for the rest of my life 💙" - Caitlyn.

We love summer camp season! Besides making friends, learning about animals, and meeting all sorts of pets, campers also help our animals get adopted by writing adorable notes and crafting true masterpieces to decorate their suites. It's always a joy to walk through the shelter admiring these works of art! ❤️🖼️

Rudy is the of the week, from our friends at 102.9 The HOG. Rudy is 7 years old, a total sweetheart who enjoys calm walks where he can sniff everywhere, playing with squeaky toys, and cuddles!
He has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and his adoption fee includes a free vet exam voucher, a starter bag of food, and many more perks!
