A family friend is helping a man who is facing a difficult and rapidly changing situation. He was recently widowed, his adult children are moving out, and the property he was renting is being sold. He has been trying to find homes for these dogs on his own and is hoping to keep them together if possible.

Lady

* 5 years old
* Spayed
* Up to date on vaccinations
* Approximately 45 pounds

Cujo

* 6 years old
* Neutered
* Up to date on vaccinations
* Approximately 56 pounds

Both dogs are friendly with people, other dogs, and even livestock. They have been well cared for and are looking for a stable, loving forever home.

The owner has about one week to find placement for them. They are located about 3 hours from Kansas City, but transportation may be available for the right home.

Ace is a 2.5 year old purebred Australian Shepherd around 30 lbs with a heart as fluffy as the coat the shelter accidentally shaved off. Instead of giving him a trim before he came to rescue, they gave him the full haircut treatment, and poor Ace is currently convinced he looks ridiculous. You can absolutely see the embarrassment in his photos. Don’t worry, Ace… your floof will return.

Underneath the bad haircut is a happy, goofy boy who loves to play and absolutely adores other dogs. In fact, we think he would do best in a home with another playful dog because having a buddy really brings out his confidence and fun personality.

Ace can be shy when meeting new people at first, but once he warms up, his sweet side takes over fast. Sit down in a chair and suddenly his paws are in your lap demanding attention immediately. He has the cutest little paw tap to politely — but persistently — let you know you stopped petting him too soon.

He’s affectionate, playful, sensitive, and full of personality. Ace may currently be rocking an unfortunate haircut, but he’s still convinced he deserves to be loved like the handsome Aussie prince he is.

Buddy is a 2-year-old black tri Australian Shepherd with a bright smile.

He’s a happy, playful boy with a goofy personality and an easygoing charm. He enjoys being around people and has a fun way of keeping himself entertained. Every now and then he’ll give you a little side-eye, just to make sure you’re noticing his antics.

Buddy would do best with someone who enjoys an active, social dog and appreciates his lighthearted, playful nature.

His previous owners moved away and left him behind, and thankfully the neighbors stepped in to feed and care for him until he could get help. We may never know the full story, but what we do know is Buddy is ready for a fresh start with a family who will love him forever.

Buddy does pull on a leash because he’s excited to get where he’s going in a hurry, so he’ll benefit from continued leash training and structure. With consistency, he’ll do well learning better manners on walks.

Buddy wants to be everyone’s friend. He’s a fun, loving dog with basic manners; with a little training he’s going to make someone an amazing companion.

We think he likes kids, but we haven’t tested him with cats since we don’t have any around him currently.

Max is a 2.5 year old purebred Australian Shepherd packed into one little 16 lb body. Small but mighty definitely describes this guy. He may be little, but his personality is huge.

Max is goofy, playful, and always ready to make you laugh with his silly antics. He loves playing with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine buddy to wrestle and zoom around with. When playtime is over, Max turns into a total lap dog and is happiest curled up beside his people soaking up attention.

He’s the perfect mix of fun and cuddly. One minute he’s bouncing around acting like a comedian, and the next he’s glued to your side wanting pets and snuggles.

We aren’t sure how he does with cats or young kids since he hasn’t been around them in his foster home.

If you’re looking for a compact Aussie with a big personality, Max may be your perfect match.

Urgent Foster Needed! 🙏

Meet Cooper, a 9–10 month old Mini Aussie/Poodle mix who is looking for a foster home that can help guide him into the incredible dog we know he can become.

Cooper is around 40–45 lbs with a whole lot of energy, enthusiasm, and potential packed into one fluffy body. He’s friendly with people, gentle when taking treats, dog friendly, potty trained, and currently lives with cats. He’s also done well with children overall, though like many young herding breeds, he can become overstimulated and has attempted to herd running kids before. One incident involved a nip during play with a child who was running and encouraging chase behavior, but no skin was broken.

The biggest thing Cooper needs right now is structure, exercise, training, and appropriate outlets for his brain and energy levels.

Right now, Cooper is living in a small apartment with very limited physical or mental stimulation. He has no canine playmates, no regular walks, and has struggled heavily with confinement. He panics in wire kennels to the point of hurting himself trying to escape, and without guidance or enrichment, he has started chewing household items when left alone. This is not aggression. It’s a young, intelligent, high-energy dog struggling without the right setup or tools.

Despite all of that, Cooper remained friendly, eager to please, and affectionate even with strangers. He truly is a sweet dog underneath the chaos.

We know Cooper may be a bit of a project and still has some typical puppy tendencies to work through, but we truly believe he has so much potential. He needs a foster willing to commit to helping him learn better habits and continue his training while he searches for his forever home.

We strongly believe Cooper’s behaviors can improve tremendously in the right foster home with:
• Consistent routine and boundaries
• Proper physical and mental exercise
• Enrichment and chew outlets
• Patient crate training with appropriate tools
• Continued guidance and confidence building

A foster home with a yard, an active lifestyle, or even a well-balanced canine companion could make a huge difference for him. He does not need perfection. He just needs someone willing to help him learn.

Cooper is up to date on vaccines but currently not neutered. He will be neutered through the rescue which may also help some behaviors.
