A little recap of Rogue’s latest show outing!
There’s so much more to showing horses than walking into the arena and chasing ribbons.
Every time we take a horse to a show, we have an opportunity to build confidence, gain experience, evaluate how our training translates outside of our everyday environment, and identify areas where we can continue improving.
With Rogue, our focus is on building a solid foundation, developing confidence, and creating positive experiences that set him up for long-term success.
I put a lot of emphasis on teaching my riders that a ribbon doesn’t determine the success of a show or the quality of a ride. Sometimes the biggest wins are the ones that never show up on a score sheet.
And somewhere along the way, let’s not forget that this is supposed to be FUN! We spend countless hours, energy, and money doing what we love. It’s important to enjoy the experience, celebrate the little victories, laugh at the imperfect moments, and appreciate the partnership we’re building with our horses.
Every outing has a purpose, every experience is a learning opportunity, and progress isn’t always measured by a placing.
At the end of the day, we’re doing this because we love horses. Let’s make sure we’re enjoying the journey, too!
