What I see as a professional dog trainer, a lot of behavioral issues stem from dogs not being properly crate trained. Dogs are denning animals. They need their own space and a space to turn off their brain. Regardless of breed, structured rest times are necessary. The crate should be the dogs safe place. The crate is not jail or a dungeon.
