***Important***
Hi all! I wanted to make you aware of some communications that I have had with the Katy Prairie Conservency. Last week, we were made aware that the Army Corps of Engineers is looking to create a reservoir in order to try to help with Houston’s flossing issues, especially after Hurricane Harvey. One of the plans being discussed involves 22,000 acres of the Katy Prairie Conservency - part of which is Freeman Ranch and Stables and the land that surrounds it. I am asking that everyone write the congressman who is trying to get this pushed through. I have templates which you can use to write the letter. You can also simply click the link below to do a one-click petition option. The KPC has told us that this process would take quite some time but that the decisions for it are being made now. Please contact me if you would like more info. Links with info are included below. We need as many people as possible to write a letter and/or sign the petition opposing this. This reservoir would mean the end of the ranch. They are in the middle of weighing out the different plans and have not made decisions yet. This all would take 15-20 years and would have an exorbitant price tag. Now is the time to let your voice be heard. This would be a tragedy for land owners and all of the amazing wildlife that lives on this land. We have endangered species here that are native to this area. Plus, the horses just love it here! Feel free to share this information with any and all!

The Interim Report notes such a project would not eliminate flooding either upstream or downstream of A...
