🐾 Please welcome our newest patient, Miss Elia Von Clementine! 🖤🤎

Elia came in today for her very first visit and, judging by that first picture, she had some concerns. 😂

"Excuse me... my mother said we were going for a ride. She mentioned NOTHING about medical personnel." 😳

There was a little suspicion.
A little side-eye.
And that tongue says she was already considering filing a formal complaint. 👅😂

But give our team about five minutes and suddenly Miss Elia Von Clementine was posing for pictures with the girls like they were all old friends. 📸💕

Apparently the vet isn't so terrible once you realize everyone is here to tell you how beautiful you are and make a fuss over you.

🍫 WH***EY HAS CH*****NE TASTE ON A KIBBLE BUDGET. 🍫

Our technician Kailey’s dog, Wh***ey, apparently decided breakfast wasn’t quite cutting it.

So he upgraded...to CHOCOLATE!

But not just ANY chocolate. Oh no. Wh***ey went straight for the GHIRARDELLI. 🤌🍫 And apparently portion control wasn’t part of the plan.

The pictures say it all…

😳 His face: “I know I’m in trouble.”
😏 His belly: “I’M HANGING ON TO THIS… THAT WAS THE GOOD STUFF.”

After the first attempt didn’t convince him to give up his gourmet breakfast, Wh***ey earned another dose of apomorphine to get that belly shaking and encourage the Ghirardelli to vacate the premises. 🤢😂

And then came the part Wh***ey apparently did NOT consider while committing his chocolate crime…

His original plans for the day:
🛋️ Couch.
😴 Nap.
🛋️ Different spot on couch.
😴 Another nap.

His revised itinerary:
🏥 AN ALL-DAY, MOM-SUPERVISED STAY AT DEERWOOD FOR OBSERVATION.

Congratulations, sir. You traded a perfectly good day of being an unemployed couch potato for an eight-hour shift at your mom’s job. 😂👏

Nothing says “Take Your Dog to Work Day” quite like your dog making the decision for you.

Thankfully, Wh***ey is exactly where he needs to be, surrounded by his mom and his own personal veterinary team. ❤️🐾

⚠️ Chocolate can be toxic to dogs. If your pet gets into chocolate, call your veterinarian right away. Knowing the type of chocolate, approximate amount eaten, and your pet’s weight can help determine the risk.

Moral of the story:
Eat your breakfast.
Stay out of the Ghirardelli.
Or clock in with Mom. 😂🐾

The humans are buying pumpkin everything.
The pets are ready for cozy blankets.
And the Florida thermometer is still screaming “ABSOLUTELY NOT.” ☀️🥵

👩: “BECAUSE IT’S BER SEASON, BUDDY.”

🎉 We have another staff pet birthday to celebrate! 🥳🐾

Today, Stryker is turning 3! Stryker is a Belgian Malinois who belongs to our technician, Sarah, and if you know anything about Malinois, you know these dogs are definitely not couch potatoes. 😂

Belgian Malinois are incredibly intelligent, athletic dogs with serious drive, endless energy, and a need to have a job. A casual stroll around the block? Stryker would probably consider that a warm-up. 🤠

And these dogs have quite the résumé! During WWI, Malinois served as messenger dogs, ambulance assistants, and supply carriers. Today, they're well known for military and law-enforcement work, including specialized tactical operations. Some are even trained to tandem skydive with their handlers. 🪂🐕

Because they need so much physical activity, mental stimulation, training, and structure, Malinois are generally best suited for experienced, active handlers. That makes Stryker and Sarah a pretty perfect pair, since Sarah has plenty of experience with dog training and handling. ❤️

So saddle up, birthday cowboy! 🤠🎂

Fleas and ticks are still active and doing there thing, so it's time to do yours.
