We want to extend our most heartfelt and gracious thank you to everyone who reached out to Senior K9 Rescue Inc. during the devastating Fires of Hwy 82.
When the mandatory evacuation was issued, we implemented our emergency plan within the hour. I left with nothing but the clothes on my back—my only concern was the safety of our senior dogs.
A special thank you to our incredible host at Zuta Ranch Gail Ickler Miller for giving us a safe place in a time of uncertainty. And to Michelle Hansen and Jenn Peterson —your quick action in stepping up with the supplies we had to leave behind meant more than words can express.
For 11 days, we remained on high alert. Was it easy? No. But we are deeply grateful and truly blessed to have been surrounded by such compassion, support, and kindness.
Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected. In times like these, we are reminded that even in the face of loss, community shines the brightest.
