Hi, I’m Iggy, and I’m a rescue iguana. 🦎
When my parents took me in a year ago, I was suffering from parasitic bites, internal parasites, fractures, and early metabolic bone disease — all preventable with proper husbandry.
With vet care, correct UVB, proper diet, hydration, and patient handling, I’ve healed tremendously. My parasites are gone, my fractures have mended, and while my mild MBD will always be part of my history, it’s no longer progressing.
My growth is still slow due to past neglect, but I’m finally gaining size and strength. Now that my health is stable, my mom is helping me work on trust building and temperament — something many iguanas need time and consistency for.
Rescues like me can thrive with dedication and proper reptile care. I’m living proof. 💚🌿
